  1. why a climbing saw for hedge reduction ? sorry but dont understand why top handle's good for one hand operation but you have to cut horizontally and that would be difficult with one hand ? no?
  2. MS 211 C-BE, Bar length 16"/40cm I think that one's ok?
  3. You are insulting me mate but Ill take it easy.. Im telling you I would use that chainsaw to reduce the hedge height ( if branches are too thick for a hedge trimmer ) I would use a ladder if necessary but no ordinary ladder but a platform ladder ( henchman ) and I find them very safe. I might as well cut from the ground if final height ought to be low enough.
  4. Hi i havent got a chainsaw yet. just a pole pruner. I do garden maintenance. I will probably have a nice one off job soon and that is to remove conifer trunks ( trunks are max 35cm in diameter ) I would like to buy a very decent stihl ( as Id like to stay with same brand ) chainsaw for this and other jobs in a future. budget up to 600£ what would you recommend ? Id like a long bar ( I think min 18" ) so that I could use it for hedge work as well ( height reduction )
  5. Thanks ! I called and was told it might be about 10-30£ for a trailer. Will have to give then a chance and see what they really charge They are helpful indeed Cheers for that
  6. 35£ for 250kg Tonne for about 130£ Thanks guys. I imagined shredder is a good option but haven't got a decent yard / field But well have some space and could hold a bit in a corner compost heap... Any shredders / Chippers recommended ? Price is a big issue as well as portability but also need something to go through branches as well as lots of foliage..
  7. Hello I'm running a small gardening business in reading. Was wondering how other people manage their green waste. I have quite a lot of it and would like to know what others do.. Disposing of it at the recycling centre isn't cheap ( 35£ for 250kg - minimum they take ) Anyone around reading who wishes to have some regular green waste for their compost heap ? ;-)
  8. Adjusted valves ( 10min job ) Works and starts much much better
  9. I like 4mix but haven't really had stihl 2mix before. I need kombi system as my business is small at the moment and having 5 or 6 dedicated units would be a waste of £ and space.. Both my engines are less than year old. Think about 8 months. Filter gets soaked sometimes if laid down other than upright but it wasn't the issue in this case as I took it off and cranked it up with no better results. Have to work with it today though and after that I'll do valve clearance ( have gauge from stihl ) Will see how that helps. Hope I won't snap the valve beforehand
  10. I thought that my engine died today as it didn't want to start. I have two of these so I swapped spark plugs, checked air filter and nothing. Cranking up for 10min and nothing Moments ago I checked it again ( it cooled down as its been few hours Since then ) and boom is starts up first time. Temporary fault ? But what could it be? Don't want it again as its disappointing and embarrassing...
  11. Got a knapsack greenkey off amazon. Looks good, feels good. 4 nozzles and some spare parts. Guess it was about 25£ Very happy
  12. I need a decent sprayer for occasional Home and business use. Probably no need to be bigger than 5l ? I have cheap stuff now for few quid. Works fine but doesn't have a good spray pattern I need something better but not overly expensive. Anybody recommends anything ?
  13. What do you mean by that ? I bet it's your friendly English chavs that have done it. Benefits are being cut. They need extra income.
  14. It's for mulching. Fresh or seasoned doesnt matter I guess. Best some sort of conifer so it doesn't rot that quickly. And most importantly I can pick up myself ( around cubic metre ) and would like to take it off of someone who's trying to get rid of it ( free of charge ) Thanks for your replies.
  15. Hi If there is anyone not far from Reading ( Berkshire ) who has some wood chippings available to give away then please let me know. I need some ! Cheers
