I have an old knackered MS200t to rebuild for my own use, I just use it for scrounging firewood not trade use, is there a non OEM cheaper brand of parts that I can use ? I will need bearings, piston and cylinder, carb rebuild kit ect.

What's the best pull start cord you can buy online by the metre ? I need thin for chainsaws and thicker for generators in the 3- 8 kw range.

I have a spare worn out MS200t that isnt worth rebuilding with expensive Stihl parts for a saw i dont use much, non OEM cylinder and piston can be got for less than £20 , I'm aware that you get what you pay for and they are made in Pakistani sweatshops from recycled scrap metal , has anyone used these parts and what the problems were ?

My folding Silky saw arrived yesterday and yes they are good, I can see how much work has gone into the blade compared to other saws.

I have a Jonsered 2065 and the chain oil is coming through from the pump but even though all the oil channels are clear in the bar I'm not getting any visible oil on the chain, my normal setting is maximum and I have always started every sawing session with an oil test to check its spraying off the bar tip, I'm not getting anything now and its the same bar. Any ideas whats gone wrong ?

I've got a well used Jonsered 2065 which I think lacks power, I gets bogged down even on 10 " diameter logs, and its only got a short bar on it, from what ive read this saw can take a much longer bar, and is a pro saw not a toy, my question is what's the probable cause of losing power, and how do I diagnose the problem, or get back to factory power levels ? I've got a pressure / vacuum tester, bore gauges, and a spare clutch.

I use a Jonsered 2065 for proper logging, I use a small saw to process branch wood, or hoover up fallen branches when I'm out and about.

I've acquired a battered MS200t, the piston looks like a dog chewed it , so I'm looking for a piston and cylinder kit, can anyone recommend an economical non OEM kit ? Some on eBay are as low as £20, I am guessing they are made of die casting alloy or recycled pop cans . I only use my saws for my own log pile now so I go for economy rather than top of the range.

I haven't found anyone that reccomends even thinking about using the tuffcut blade. I wouldn't mind trying one out, but I will stick to my MS200t for zipping up small firewood, and the circular, and reciprocating saw for pallets.

Anyone have any experience of the arbortech tuff cut blade ? I'm imagining it would be worth trying out, to rip up pallets for firewood, but everyone I talk to says I am mental even thinking about using one, as they are "an accident waiting to happen ". I can't see it would be more dangerous than all the other tools I use, chainsaw, table saw, circular saw, 9 " grinder ect.

I need new o rings for the fuel and oil caps on my Jonsered 2065. Can anyone tell me where to get them please. Or what size the original ones are. I haven't got any O rings that size, and I can't be arsed trying to find ones to fit. I'm recovering from an illness and just want to buy the right ones first time.

I need a basic certificate of competence for a chainsaw, where would I get one ? I have been trained to use one on an army resettlement course, and have been sawing for 10 years without incident. As low cost as possible .

i have used one for years for logging, it's a quality bit of kit, it's on it's second bar and chain since i got it secondhand, and i'm just about to give it a major service, and it should do years more work yet, certainly nothing major is broken or worn out, theres no faults with it i can find.

got an Oregon 3/8 Chain with the number 73 on it, anyone know what raker gauge i would need for that ?

always been a hard to start saw, at least half a dozen pulls from cold. It's due for a good service anyway, the clutch shoes need replacing. Anyone know a good supplier for Jonsered parts ?

got a jonsered 2065 which i used as my main saw for years now, some times it seems to flood immediately when i try to start it from cold, this problem comes and goes. I take the plug and air filter off, and the fuel hose, and let it all evaporate off, then it's fine. Any ideas on whats causing this ?

would a scored piston pass the crankcase pressure and vacuum test i did but still cause problems ? what i saw of the piston via the ports did not look great.

Ok iv'e been on the sick for a while but i'm back to this saw now, i tried a pop off test , no pop at 30 psi, the max my mityvac will do, (the needle and seat were wet with wd40.) It falls slowly from 30 psi to 15 in about 60 seconds, then creeps down even slower.

Yes the check valve in the main nozzle, i read about testing this by putting a tube in the high speed needle hole and sucking and blowing, so as to test the valve working, i tried this but i can suck air back through, it's very difficult to get a seal on any little bit of hose poked in there, so i'm not 100 % sure on this.
