I love my job and am all about progressing with knowledge and experience in the industry.     Nice one! cheers for the advice I'll check out those companies. I should be fine with the heat, We had a pretty hot summer in 2013 and it didn't seem to phase me........ I say now!

    I am a climber going to Darwin Australia around June time. I'm trying to sort out some work out so I can be working Quite soon after I arrive. Does anyone happen to have any advice or contacts in Darwin? Or if you have a tree company yourself in or around Darwin and are looking for an arborist, please message me. I absolutely love the job, have 5 years industry experience and by June 2014, nearly a years climbing under my belt/harness I see any work as valuable experience, so for me to be working in Australia (the other side of the world from England) would be an absolute bonus! I've heard that there is a lot of tree work out there. Lichfield national park is close by?? I will be sending my kit out there (topping saw, climbing ropes, harness etc) is this a good idea? Any advice would be hugely appreciated! cheers, Adam

    Good advice gnarly! I'm still researching. I just noticed someone else posted something on a similar subject saying that one may as well get experience in the place you wanna be! It makes sense I suppose! But what do I know! Gonna keep researching, wish me luck

    Hi I'm Adam I'm 28 years old and gonna be starting a 10 week intensive tree surgery course in April. I've had about 3 years experience all in all, in the trade as a groundy. I've wanted to be a climber ever since I was about 10 but been put off it by various people and certain reasons...until now. I hope to get the qualifications and jet off to Australia.... I was recommended this site by a mate and said I should register to find advice on the prospects over there and stuff like that. I was just wondering if I could get away with being sponsored straight away, rather than having to get experience as a climber over here (not that I know completely how that works) thanks! hopefully someone can give me advice
