  2. You could use either , It depends on what you want to cook. I tend to use a wire rack with a roasting pan on top when cooking meat with foil over the top .Thats how i did my beef yesterday, so tender, But if it were say soup you can put directly on to the stove , but keep an eye on it as it gets to boiling point very quick you could then place it on a trivet to simmer gently.

  8. No mid size 3-4 lb , Because the heat source is coming from only beneath the whole cooking process takes at least twice as long as it would in a normal oven, so lovely slowly cooked the meat doesnt dry out it stays very moist even the next day for you sarnies.
  9. Hi Paolo, Le cruset not cheap but last for donkeys years. My mum still using hers after 25years and i think those were second hand Cooked another chicken sunday , please try this! cook it the normal way with foil over it for a couple of hours drain off some juices then turn it upside down for another couple of hours , i promise you its the best tasting chicken ever.
  10. Any luck with the tagine Paolo? Today were cooking steake and kidney stew , sunday we did a roast chicken upside down in the pan . it was fantastic, food really does taste better in my opinion .
  11. No joking but we have only turned our cooker on for 1 hour in in 8 days and that was to cook a pie. Every thing else on the log burner my misses even cooked a quiche on it the weekend it was lovely. And i cooked a leg of lamb on sunday. The only thing i havnt managed to do is to get the food to brown on top any ideas or is it not possible?

  18. It was lovely, tastes even better when its cooked for free , extra red wine for taste . I wouldnt want to leave our fan oven on for that long:thumbdown:
  19. cooked a beef caserole the weekend 5hrs slow cooked , meat just fell apart.
