  2. Looking for an Arborist in Surrey to join my company based in Sutton. I'm mainly focusing on private clients for now, but i'm open to any type of contract. My truck and chipper would keep up with the majority of commercial outfits. I'm advertising for an Arborist because i dont feel the position i have available really fits into any particular category. To the hard core climbers out there, this is a varied role. We could be planting, clearing or stump grinding. For now i dont get involved with hedge trimming, i feel i'm best off looking for other work if thats the case. Perhaps later on down the line a grass cutting hedge trimming, edge strimming team of gardeners could come out of it. But i'd be interested in establishing an indipendent Stump Grinding outfit first. For the right clients, getting involved with whole projects from start to finish and providing continued mantenance and management is the goal. Please e-mail, phone or text 07801 459 706 [email protected] Thanks, James Also open to any Unions, Consortiums, Alliances and Secret Societys
  3. Thought i'd show it off. The Cabs Aventador Black, the tipper body and tool box are just painted like the chipper. It's also got a 250KG swing lift in the rear. She's my babyy.

  5. A freind of mine has a huge willow in her front garden. It's been pollarded from what i can see about 5-6 years ago. The regrowth is starting to get heavy on this thing. Whats the deal with willows, i know most pollards would be maintained on a bi-annual basis or so. Wouldn't this be risky for a willow, the tree looks like it'll need doing again soon. Any Willow officionado's out there? they're favourate trees of mine.
  6. New startup Albion Arboriculture. Looking for a climber for occasional work, seems to be mostly weekends at the moment. Just wondering if anyones about in my area. Thanks James
  7. Hi All, just spoke to some guy at Richmond council wo told me the tree i intend to work on could be part of a conservation area. It's a large willow in a guys back garden, it's been pollarded before and time to cut it back is running short. Can anyone shed some ligt on this. Is there a faster method than the online tree works application? Many thanks Fellaz
  8. I found the thread. Been looking at 'Rated People' and 'Check a Trade'.
  9. Besides Steve's option, which i think sounds very appealing, you have a few options. I see the choice between two extremes. Farmers field, cheap but very insecure. or the Secure Garage Lockup solution, you'd have to pay to dump your chip, and the yards expensive. But some places will insure you up to 3m if necessary, and i've heard some offer a next day replacement for stolen items. They're that secure.
  10. I'm 35, been doing commercial work for a year and i'm also contemplating the same move. Your post has inspired me a little bro. Getting that money together is what sets you apart from most people who say it cant be done. Savings like that in this economy, well, you obviously keep an eye on expenses.
  11. Afternoon all, I heard from someone that there are agencies for Arb contractors which handle all your marketing and advertising for a monthly fee. Does anyone here have any experience with these agencies, can i have some recommendations? I consider myself quite good with google, but cant find anything. Do they exist?
  12. Wow, i got it. likey lots, you really jam your hand in there behind the brake. And i have to engage it with my whole hand, not just above the lever sweet
  13. Thanks rover, think i unintentionally engaged the inertia brake with the nuts
  14. ok, seems to be working much better now. the chain brake seems kinda sensitive. It's jumping back to engage now. Is there something not right again? Thanks Dan. The bar nuts are really good, like the hanging jobbies
  15. loosened everything off, wow, still very stiff to disengage. Everything's a bit wierd, only used sthil. Thanks Dan. Hope i get used to it's foibles.
  16. nope, not it. Worried about taking the clutch cover off again without disengaging the chain brake. Manual says no, is this ok?
  17. could be, let me loosen it a tad
  18. Evening guys, Last time i checked the boards i think was a year or more ago. Since then i've been working for G&T and loving it. Bought my first saw today, the 550 xpg. Used to Sthil but heard good reviews and liked the one i used on my felling course. Just fitted the bar, seated the chain tensioner, tightened the nuts and the engaged the chain brake and now it wont come off. Did i do something wrong? thanks for reading
