  1. If a considerable amount of force is put on the hitch it will slip, if the tibloc was set on the line then the hitch could slide down enough to create a drag effect on the tibloc resulting in it ripping the rope, no toothed ascender should be used in a system all the time, it begs for something to happen!

I see what your saying there. Never thought of that. But then again ive never had my prussik slip before.

  2. Plus, no real weight is being added to the tibloc. The weight is on the prussik. The only weight on the block is the pulley and the force required to moved an unloaded prussik up the line. I can only envisage the block lightly grabbing the rope. If all my weight was on the block i could see why the damage outweighs the practicality but as its lightly loaded it will only grip the rope with minimal force?????

  3. most usually pick it up. If its fresh we usually just blow it into the border with our little blower. If they flatly refuse to shift it week uopn week we mow the the offending turd into a big long **** streak and they soon get the idea. 99% wont get sucked into the blades and get spread with the roller. Just mind your feet.

  4. Did a reduction and crown raise on a large sycamore in the coldest harshest rain ive seen for a long time. Wasnt raining when i went up but was quarter the way into the job when it hit. I decided to carry on and finish but i was freezing cold, wet to the bone and shivering uncontrollably. In hind site i should of stopped it was getting slippy and dangerous. If it was bad to start with i wouldnt have bothered even turning up.

  5. Had it a couple of months ago. Got up a 5.30 am. Set off for the yard at 6.30 am. Felt absolutely fine. Got to yard and threw my ring up 4 times. Felt fine. Had to stop on the motorway to puke. Felt fine. Got to job, threw up twice and felt bloody awful. Cold, shivering, shits, uncontrollable vomiting, dizzy, light headed. Spent the day in the site office. Fell asleep on the way home. Got in bed for 6pm and felt amazing in the morning like nothing was wrong.
