  1. yes, a little saw like that ,inexperienced user and a child holding a log ,whats wrong with that?
  2. you should not have let her loose with that saw look what she has done to your garage:lol:
  3. why not get a child to hold it instead?
  4. I am having a clear out and have a ms180 that i do not use so thought I would have a look on ebay to see how much I could expect to sell it for. I found this item 321203879966 Look at the photos I am lost for words.
  5. GHS sold me some Chinese crap and were sarcastic ***** to deal with when it broke.
  6. Thats a good price if you got 3amp batteries if you got the 1.5 amp batteries you get half the run time, don,t keep batteries in a cold place when you are not using the drill for a while.
  7. We bought one of them on a deal 2 3amp batteries for £175 +vat seem good so far. A good tip with batteries is don,t let them get to cold and allways leave them with some charge in them.
  8. I run a building company and would say in cordless buy dewalt ,hitachi or panasonic if you can find it, makita stuff is ok but the batteries are total crap they just don't last and are expensive to replace, makita are marketed well and the dealers get big mark ups on them so they sell well i know i spent out on a fair bit of makita kit over the years and paid to learn that it is not the best by a long shot.
  9. Sorry about that ,it was so easy i could not resist:001_tt2 :but i did buy a makita disc cutter once it blew its top end after less than 18 months use as a back up saw (only ever used 5lt makita oil that came free with it) never again.
  10. Give the guy a break at least he did have the presence of mind to come on here and ask for advice before he paid for it ,so this forum has helped him, no harm done ,lesson learnt, why take the piss? just because he has not got experience. Could have been worse he could have brought a Dolmar or Makita, now they are crap:001_rolleyes:
  11. The advice was to the OP You know as well as i do the point I am making is, as a sole trader his personal assets would not be as well protected as if he traded as a limited company. Unless you disagree with that wind your neck in.
  12. For example, If an employee of the company carrying out company business caused the company to be sued and the company had insurance but the insurer did not pay out disputing the claim etc ,the company would be found liable ,the director/s may well decide to fold the company probably walk away, maybe start another company,if however the same scenario involved a soul trader he would be an easy target and likely stripped of his personal assets. In reality this happens ,if you don't try to protect your personal assets when starting a business you could well find out the hard way. Fact of the matter is you have more protection as a Ltd Company than as a soul trader no matter what anyone on here tells you. If I were you I would be join the FSB for some impartial advice.
  13. Go on then enlighten me
  14. If you have personal assets ie a house you would be crazy not to be Ltd. You will be paying less tax and if for example you were sued for negligence or a large contractor went bust on you at least you will get to keep your house, you may think it could never happen to you but it happens every day,to some good people, cover your self go ltd.
  15. I have a 7 year old toyota dyna and the butt is falling to bits ,i think they are made by scattanelli or some other muppets ,they are also fitted to cabstars transits etc basically they are mild steel with alloy sides made up of loads of pressed steel crap, the truck is great but the butt going for scrap this weekend and will be replaced with a full alloy one. I thought the old cabstar butts we used to have that used to rust were bad but the latest ones are worse and they have the cheek to call them alloy bodies. Rant over:001_rolleyes:
  16. We have had a couple of good days on woodcock although they seemed to come a bit later this season, pheasants where i beat have been ok. i have two more shooting days and two beating days booked in then its all over.
  17. Last year i spent about £1200 on oil plus a £500 service/repair bill on a Efel Harmony oil burner. This year i binned it and got a Stovax 15kw boiler stove I fitted it (Under Building Regs) and my mate plumbed it to the existing central heating ,We did it in a weekend my 5 bed cottage is toasty it cost me about £2k including buying the Stove and i have burnt about 3 ton of cord wood and about 1ton of demolition timber (I am a building contractor) Cant help buying chainsaws though :001_rolleyes:got 4 now:thumbup:
  18. Whats wrong with getting two50 cc saws the same with different bar lengths ie 14 and 16" seems that would tackle what you need to do and keep it simple.
  19. Just read this listing on a Husky on E bay its so funny heres the item no. 121040990764
