Utility Surveyor

Location: South West – Launceston

Glendale Countryside currently has vacancies for Surveyors at our Launceston / Devon contracts.

Reporting to the Utilities Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the surveying of the overhead electric power line network, in relation to vegetation management, for contracts currently held within Western Power Distribution. You will be responsible for work programming, the supervision of teams and spot checks of completed work as required.

You will liaise with WPD representatives, local authorities, public and private agencies. You will, occasionally, be required to quote for private contract work in relation to arboricultural enquiries. All recommendations made must take into account current best practice in Arboriculture.

The role requires a high level of contact with WPD customers and members of the public; you must maintain a good relationship between WPD, their customers and the Company, Glendale.

The successful candidate should hold a level 3 qualification in countryside works and NPTC Units as well as have a minimum of 3+ years experience in Utility Arboriculture. It is desirable for candidates to have UA1 and UA 5, and a full clean Driving Licence

Landscape Estimator

Based in Watford

Glendale’s Civic Trees operates on a national basis from a dual depot/office facility in Watford. Civic Trees is a specialist company dealing with semi mature tree supply, planting and relocation.

The Landscape Estimator will be responsible for forecasting and planning sales across the business. The key responsibilities for this role are to: assist in sales/estimating of the business; develop advertising/marketing initiatives; manage customer database; discuss tree moving with customers; lead negotiations with clients about claims or returns; and ensure regular and effective communication internally and directly with clients.

The successful candidate will be educated to ND/HND level or above in a land-based study (e.g. Horticulture or Arboriculture, Landscape Management). The candidate will have a sound knowledge of landscaping sales and will have experience of setting estimates, taking into account all contributing factors. The ideal candidate will have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with high energy levels and enthusiasm. They will have financial and medium term planning skills as well as operational awareness.

General Manager – Utility Arboriculture – North WalesSalary: Dependant on skills and competencies

The successful candidate will be a proactive business manager who will be able to offer significant operational, financial and commercial management to the largest arboriculture contract in the company.

Reporting to the Regional Director, the successful candidate should be qualified in arboriculture, forestry or similar to degree level with significant experience in delivering large utility/vegetation management contracts. You will need to work to both Glendale and Client processes and procedures ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards, whilst maintaining tight control of costs.

In addition, you will need to have excellent time management and administrative skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment with a strong health and safety culture, excellent people management & communication skills and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will hold natural leadership qualities; innovation and enthusiasm is required for this senior position and will be a key member of the regional management team.

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Arborist to join Glendale to work in the Nottingham City area.

The candidate’s key responsibilities will be climbing and undertaking arboricultural duties including tree pruning, dismantling and felling.
