Thanks for your response Peter, I'm inclined to agree with you, a trial day seems to be more commonplace, rather than a formal interview process for a cutter.

In a small practical industry like arb, everyone seems to know everyone and large HR departments are rarities, it seems CV's are not really relative. Do you rate a CV? Do you read CV's or is a letter/email/phone call more important? If you do value CV, if so what do you look for in a CV? Any particular CV Gripes (Too many pages/pictures etc) Looking for advice, from an employer / manager’s perspective.

I'm currently working as a surveyor in the week, I'm looking for weekend work on the tools. Previous work experience on the LUL Network (Site Person in Charge) specialising in fenceline and line clearance. Level 2 Cert in Forestry and Arb (Studying Level 3) NPTC'S in Pesticides PA1 PA6 and Chainsaw 30,31,38 and 39. Utility Aboriculture : UA1, UA2.1 and UA5. LANTRA - Brushcutter/Woodchipper First Aid at Work Certificate Experience using Stihl/Husqvarna/Timberwolf/Jensen I have all my own PPE. I have a digital copy of all my certs if required. Looking to dust off a few cobwebs and earn a little pocket money. Most of my working experience has been with my feet on the ground but im looking to develop climbing/lowering and pruning skills.
