  1. Hard to tell without seeing access etc. Do you need it pricing up in from Devon. Cheers
  2. Have you had any advice? I'm looking to do exactly the same as you!
  3. Appreciate the advice and I'm definitely disciplined enough to do distance learning, its a good time for me to do it without many distractions and i also work well with routine. Do you mind me asking where you did your different courses? Cheers
  4. Yeah i would rather travel to Westonbirt as my first choice but the course is fully booked for this september and I'm from Devon so any other location would be miles away. So i was just seeing what people thought of the distance learning option as i definitely don't want to wait another year if i don't have to. Cheers for the comments though guys
  5. No i tried to go to Westonbirt but it was fully booked and the tree mail course doesn't start until march i think, but I'm chomping at the bit to start september. I was late trying to book for a few personal reasons but am up for the challenge now
  6. Afternoon guys Been looking into doing my level 4 certificate distant learning and just wondered who you guys have used in the past apart from tree life as I've enquired there. Many thanks

  8. Hi Guys Just wondered what different methods and set ups you all used for presenting and recording data for yourselves or clients. Are there any good software services i could look into or just devise my own plan through excel etc. Cheers:thumbup:

    My accident

Wow, sorry to hear this. However last june my uncle was struck by a beech he felled which was no less than 1.5 metres across, luckily it struck him and whistled past rather than crush him. He broke all his ribs, pelvis in 3 places, collarbone, shattered his shoulder and had a plate inserted, tore all the ligaments in his knees and had a collapsed lung. 6 months later he was back working and is currently 90% back where he was. Just a story to show that if you soldier on and work hard life will be back where you want it before you know it, stay strong!
  10. Hi guys My company is based in the totnes area of south devon and last night we had local ****** that have moved 5 mins from our yard attempt to steal our chainsaws. Luckily our security alarm which calls our mobile phone instantly was set off when they breached the office so they only had 10 mins to work with. The only damage caused was to our cameras, recording unit which they intended to take and our external alarm so a job done apart from the bill for new installation of security devices. The police were fantastic and luckily had a dog unit and helicopter on the case within 15mins, they found 2 guys at the travellers site and the dog caught the other 1 there also. Had we not been there so quick or had they not been greedy both our chippers could have gone, just shows security is worth the money. Just thought id post this to make other local tree surgeons aware in the south devon area. Cheers
  11. wow 7.5k for the level 6 thats unreal!
  12. Wow can't imagine how hard L6 is guys thanks for the advice i best get reading and saving haha! Merry xmas!
  13. Hi guys glad to say i passed my PTI exams at the second time of asking. I took my re-take with guy watson and even though i passed he gave me some useful pointers for future reference which i appreciated a lot. If you fancy giving it a go id recommend it and just get your head stuck in the right books:thumbup1: My next thought are probably going to turn to level 4 tech certs etc. Im guessing tree life are going to be my best option by sounds of it! cheers Also if you need surveys done in Devon or Cornwall don't hesitate to ask haha!
  14. Hi guys Looking for a climber for at least 3 days a week perhaps more dependant on a few things. Drop me an email on [email protected] for details. Many thanks
