Hey people
Want to know some of the ways people are retrieving their rope guide or pulley saver with out them smashing into the ground, I know of some ways that are effective but wanted to get some ideas, preferably without having to have a throw line pre installed.......

Have a look on honey bros, they have reels for under 20 buck

Cheers Kane
I got fig8 multi loop and sling.
Can you just back up your hitch on single line with fig 8?
yea just use the multi sling in the video, then just add the figure 8 above your hitch, this creates more friction just like the rope wrench idea

here are some photos to explain, first few are with a alpine butterfly with the tail pass through the eye, the last few are my hitch climber set up( I know you said no rope wrench, but it is a good investment, no need to re-set the system just attach the wrench)the rest are with a bowline and a bowline with a bright
hope it helps:thumbup1:

Do you own a mechanical descender, figure eight or something similar, if so just tie an alpine butterfly, then pass the tail of your line through the eye, this then makes an SRT system on a pole, when you get to the next work station, pull on the other end of the line and the whole system pulls out and falls down
I use it with blocking down and when spiking palms, works real good

Thanks man will do

Wire bro. It's all I use from 6mm ov up to 24mm stable braid
thanks seems like a pretty cheap alternative, you would be the man to ask, if I was going doing splicing on armor-prus what class splice would it be and where would I get the info for the splice from???

I have done a few splices with 16 strand, just used 1.25mm wire as a fid, was going to look into double braid splicing and wanted to know if anyone had some advice on what tools to buy, should I just use the wire or invest in some tubular fids and maybe a splicing wand..........help please

Hey mate.
Not sure of anyone your end of the country. Have you any splicing yet?
yea done some 16 strand fire, just an e2e for a rigging strop, had no splicing tools, just got some 1.25mm wire and a nail punch for a marlin spike,

Hey bro, Eliminates a bit of sit back and
Twist. Works really good with a short hitch cord but I now use a longer hitch so the ring just kinda flopped to the side..
neat idea:thumbup1:

I had similar problem then realsied i used tapered screw instead of stepped (whoops) im gonna use some locktite to be sure. How long do the cams last mine is not even a year old and starting to slip?
When your decending, are you using the wooden block and not just the cam, becuse the block takes alot of the weight of the cam, reduceing wear.....

does anybody know any fast and effective way to reduce the amount of twist in rope, I know that running it through a figure eight does it but any other ways???
