Maldon area mate, my next confession, no tool insurance!
Who's a silly boy then......ME!
Hi Geoff, am I right in assuming your from Essex arb? I heard they got turned over recently, but the main reason for my post is that a friend of mine has noticed a lot of Stihl tools popping up on eBay located in latchingdon. Bit of a coincidence aye, may be your tools, and ebayers beware!

While driving down the M2 in Kent this morning on my way to work, I was behind another arborist & without warning one of the wheels on their chipper came flying off along with the mud guard, narrowly missing my truck. There was no signs that the wheel was loose prior to it coming off. Check your nuts regularly as could have been a nasty collision. If you are a member on here I hope your chipper is ok.
thats mad!
This happened to us today! Would upload the picture but im sure you can all imagine a chipper without a wheel lol
Not in kent tho but near maldon way... No damage, wheel recovered a mile away from where we was when we heard it over the old scool tunes on radio... Lesson learnt, we check ours regular and cant work out how they came loose, none were sheered.... We thinking some git undone them while on site...

The other variation is the suspect car is indicating left, but as you pull out from the side road they continue staright into your car. Remember a flashing indicator just proves the bulb is working!
i assume a camera wouldnt help in this situation, as it faces forward it wouldnt catch the suspected ass#hole falsly indicating

Hi all,
We are getting desperate for a site to tip off, we work mainly around:
Maldon, witham, heybridge, burnham on crouch, chelmsford, all the surrounding areas..
We usually have a fair bit to get rid of, 7.5tonne truck worth.
Any sites with ideally hard standing would be greatly appreciated, or even if you know someone who does want chip.
Please pm me the details

We need pics here lads! Rob, what are you waiting for? Im growing the hottest chillis in the world, and prune them hard so they survive winter (called Bonchi). So lets see yours....
you should check out the thread i started a while back "anyone into bonsai?"
Some good advice and lots of pictures on there...

The MS 150 uses a 1/4" chain and needs to be sharpened with a 3.2 mm file (1/8"), not a 4mm file.
But STIHL does make a file guide for it, see "Stihl file holder and file 3.2mm" Products for the category: File handle and guide
File it using a 30° top plate angle, holding the file at 90° to the bar.
excellent, many thanks,
Can always count on this forum

Hi all, bought a 150 about 6 months ago,
And im amazed its only now due for a little honing, i have a pack of 1/8 files which i was sold to use but was told there are no file guides for this saw
So, as the dealer offered to to prepare the saw for collection i do not know the chain specs, ie file angles, pitch etc
Also, does anyone know if there are now guides available ?
Much appreciated

I know of one which, even without pruning will randomly put out normal leaves on a branch, only to return to cut leaves the following year, branches all over the tree do this seemingly at random, usually only one or two on the tree at any one time though.
i spose its the same as a varigated maple reverting back in patches

didnt hear of that! wow, and thats not far from us

Ok... apart from the drugs stash we found last week which would have easily given me a year or two off work should we have kept it...should have taken pictures... here is my latest.
No, not a bird box.. but a "geo-cache"... shame.. inside was alots of kiddies toys and a note pad with a long lists of dates it was checked so i left a sorry note with the date and left it on the stump....
the last picture is of a random what looks to be a novelty CD holder... i broke it in half while pretending to copulate...

Ok, so i bought a pair,
First impressions were they are huge and alot heavier than my golds,
I find i cant walk properly in them and cannot bend, even after wearing them in a bit, i think they would suit a person with wider feet rather than my skinny ones, climbing was a joke. I do admit they felt solid, and well made tho
I may put them on ebay i think, and buy something else

Once we removed the sail, and unnecessary big wood which wasnt touching, came down and winched up off the house, then resecured 2 ropes then chogged down the rest,
-
ok heres my little bit of action for the day,
we had quite a few call outs... but....before we could anything, we had to remove our willow which crashed across our yard carpark,
the lads see it drop and said if i was 1 minute earlier i would probably had been squished as it fell where i park everyday
Then we it was onto call out number 1,
eucy onto a house, was a bit difficult, no way of getting a mewp or hi-ab in..
so it was a winch, rope and climb jobby, didnt get anymore pics, was too chaotic lol

Thats pretty cool, i wonder how easily spares are available
anyone use dremmel tool to sharpen hedge cutter blades
in General chat
Posted
I do use a dremel if the blades haven't been sharpened in a while, or have recently taken a hammering from wire etc then maybe finish off with a flat file to get a better edge, but if it's just a honing then I go straight for the flat file personally, think the dremel can take off more than wanted if your not careful
