  1. <p>If she senses through the alternator, it still takes voltage pulses per revolution but more of them! If you have a green light, speed is being sensed (does it change to red if the revs are dropped?), so 12v should be sent to the solenoid. I'm no mechanic, but sensing through the alternator is many times faster and more reliable and it isn't a special alternator but I could not tell you how it works exactly!</p>
