  1. Thanks Jim- problem is that they need plant insurance, and I don't have access to this- and cost of insurance short term is prohibitive.
  2. HI Richard, I can take them for you- shall I PM you, or email you? (you can get hold of me at jimwpughREMOVE@gmail dot com) Thanks, James
  3. Hi all, Can anyone help with a standalone log litter hire (ie not PTO or tractor hyd) that can cope with oak ans sweet chestnut up to 40" diameter and up to 40" high? Not sure what power required but don't think 8tonne is going to cut it. It's for my house rather than commercial. Thanks James
  4. know of some secondhand nitro stuff if you want?
  5. HI Guys, thanks for all your very useful and prompt messages- hopefully i've replied to all of them.
  6. Have used larger stihl chainsaws over the past few years (i'm not a tree surgeon, but have worked on land for a while), bt have found that i could do with a small light duty saw for home use. Will only be used at home, and only a couple of times per year cutting up cord wood ready for hand splitting. Should i totally discount electric saws, and whats the minimum i should spend? budget is extremely tight- ie £100 is expensive at the moment
  7. Hi Guys, First post, after being pointed in this direction by Wolverhampton Tree Services (thanks Bob ) Does anyone in the N. Hampshire area (Newbury/Basingtoke/Oxford) have a reasonable quantity of wood that i could purchase? looking for at least 2.5tonne (5 cubic metres?) for me to pickup with my own trailer, and distribute to my family around the area- lots of people doing wood deliveries, but some of them want a fair chunk to deliver to more than one place- and seeing as i have both the tow vehicle and trailer, it would be nice to save a bit of cash Would be used on log burners and open fires, but i'm not that fussed about hard/soft- just needs to be well seasoned. Thanks all, James
