Hi all, I'm a freelance climber, with 10 years experience throughout all aspects of the industry. I have all my own climbing equipment, rigging kit's (big and small). Both with backup essentials!! I have my own saws (aerial and ground) CS 30, 31 (FESA refresher 2016), 38, 39 and 40. Current CSCS card and First Aid. I'm looking to literally work my way around the country before moving on to others. I love the entire industry and will do pretty much everything. From the backyard prunings, reductions, deadwoods and never-ending sweat box conifer bashing sessions to the ornate veteran clean up's/inspections and behemoth dismantles (I love these especially). I have an enthusiastic and professional approach towards both clients and colleagues. All round team player and like to laugh and sing while I work. Requests are always welcomed. Arbogrunt We did initially drop visors and armed ourselves with a silky a 200t and the 65 came out. We didn't have much 2stroke left, dyou think timberall would have the desired effect?? We turned up at six this morning which wound everyone up, apparently they don't appreciate a chipper flat out on there doorstep so early haha. No confrontation so far :-) SteveA the stoners were in a quiet corner giggling at nothing in particular I will however remember to video it next time. Hi guys, I've spent the last week around Portsmouth university doing some routine crown lifts, deadwoods and the ever loved street light clearance. It seemed another standard day on an otherwise standard tree, as I put my harness on, until we had four 16-20 year olds throwing tennis ball sized lump stones at us. It was kind of comical as none of them could throw further than 30 yards and didn't have the bottle to come closer. But pretty shocking as it was a pretty unprovoked attack. We approached and asked them politely to move on to a torrent of abuse. Followed by more stones and reinforcements. What would you do in the scenario: Follow your professional morales and pack up and leave?? Down tools and take your gloves off?? Or call the police and watch them run off?? Got the 9/43 last Monday and although they are a snug fit to start they seem to mould and are comfy as you like. I broke my left ankle last year so might be biased but the added ankle support is brilliant. The deep grips are great for navigating the mud. They are however very hot when spending a day dragging detritus. Now for climbing I've stuck with haix Tibet forst for years. Airstreams are as supple as trainer's and very light. The waterproofing is incredible. I chased a saw into a 3ft "puddle" every last bit of them held a nice few pints for hours until tipped out. Overall a very good boot. Hi guys. I've got a job that I started but couldn't finish due to weather. All my booked clients are being selfish not letting me shuffle stuff about so urgently need a crew to finish up. Two 30ft pollards, a 20ft tall 22inch straight stem to fell and log, a 20ft pine deadwood and a 5 minute pile of chipping. Would be a comfy day for an experienced team. I'm awaiting delivery and have gone for a half size down. Last boots were haix which I've been double socking for the past year. Hopefully they'll be a perfect fit. Kind of wish I'd looked on here first though :-(

Well said. I thought it was an open discussion..... How wrong I was

I'm living proof alcohol is a bad thing. Feb this year I jumped out a second story window, braking back and both ankles. All my Surgeons and consultants said the same thing it was the alcohol.

The only thing that makes tree surgery dangerous is immaturity and fear. Once you've conquered them it's a breeze. Being able to think outside the box, Yes we all get shaky leg syndrome every now and then but it's part of the fun. New day, New boundaries to push. Mind over matter as they say.

Hi all, I'm not a fan of the pristine reduction, following the natural flow I find leaves the tree (for most species) looking like a tree and the characteristics are preserved. As for bits sticking out, it's a tricky one. In some cases it works as above the character of the tree. But a balance between natural and ironed is the way forward. You know you've got it spot on when you walk round after completion and you don't feel the desire to tip back that bit and you can't tell you've done a reduction bar the shrinking. And remember the customer is NEVER right!! There only concerned with the sun light or there sky dish or the leaves. Mike
