  1. i think it was the weight on top of the length that was the problem. i too have had couriers bring me 8' planks but only up to 30kg.

     

     

     

    i reckon this would be about 100-120kg.

     

     

    Parcel monkey via DX have just sent me the nova dvr-xp lathe, weighed 100kg+ at 60 odd £ bud.

     

    But i wouldnt recommend them. Nothing but trouble

  2. hi all, i'd like to purchase this lovely big laburnum tree that's on ebay but it's in bewdey and i'm in slough.

     

     

     

    it's a trip of 2 hours 20mins straight down the M40.

     

     

     

    is anyone coming this way who would be willing/able to pick it up for me?

     

     

     

    its supposed to be 2m long by 1' diameter.

  3. once you get yourself going it's not that hard, although it may be more apt to state that it's not too hard to turn, but it's hard to turn well.

     

     

     

    lets see your first attempts too as most people don't want to put pics of the for anyone else to see but i'll show you mine if you show us yours...

     

     

    Lol yeah ill be posting up my first attempt, i can only learn from others as they can from mine.

    Thanks for the positive comment. I look forward to seeing your work on here shortly. Have you got your new DVR-XP set up yet?

     

     

    Should be with me on tues Pan. Currently getting blanks made up and on the hunt for burrs lol.

    Really do like your work and how youve turned them.

  5. Lol bob theres loads of them out there. Guess it just depends what u want to turn and what your maximum working sizes are.

    Did you keep an eye on that other nova dvr-xp ? Last i saw was at £1000

  6. Steve try parkhill training.

    There good people training grounds and staff.

    Also after our 3rd baby has arrived give me a shout and ill pop over with some saws, and go over what ever you need.

    Ive also got the cs30 on file so can email that to you. ( urll just havento remind me bud ) 👍
