  7. 1 year on the saw is still going strong. All and sundry have used it and ragged it hard. No problems so far. 1 years warranty to go. They are making a stronger version slightly lighter, more powerfull with magnesium crankcases. Good value for money saw for the tighter budget

    Efco 162!!!

Yeah but have you tried a new Efco top handled saw? You are basing your opinion on a well used, pased its sell by date worn out saw. The only way to comoare is to put i. t up against a 12 year old Stihl Or compare two new saws side by side
  9. Excluding or including! What have you been taught that has been untrue or overhyped? Mmmmmm

    Efco 162!!!

Hi all. Has anybody on the forum. Had/used one. Or Efco saws in general. I have purchased a hardly used one for a fair price to go with my Mitox trialing machine. Atb
  21. I hope i am not sounding flippant but i am seriously not bothered if it doesnt. If it is a lot of trouble i will take it back for a refund and buy a brand new Stihl. Look at what happened to the British car industry that sat on there fat behinds. From a million cars to virtually none. The Chinese are coming. There products were initially very poor and some still are, but are getting better. We all like cheap but will posibly lead to our demise. Cripes getting a bit political. Heres me with a Chinese saw, whoops what a numpty. Fired it up today but didnt get into the wood. Sure sounds crisp. Thanks for the feedback pos or neg x
  22. Hi spud. The market is changing rapidly. Check eblog to see the silly amounts of money people are paying for 20 year old stihls. They have had the guts tbrashed out of them Great, long lived saws that have paid for themselves. Surely not worth the money they get. A free market though. I personally would not want one. If i wanted a new 346, 357, 360xp i could luckily raise the funds. I am just the guinea pig trialing a saw for the novice who prefers to have a new saw at a low price with back up. Even the venerable 350 Huskies are making good dosh nowadays. Check for youself on the bay. May get a chance to give the zaw a spin today. Otherwise Monday. Will keep you all informed.
  23. Perhaps i should compare it to a Husky 240 then, similar money. 2hp, max power at 9000 revs. Trouble is i dont have any experience of this saw. Even the Husky 353 is £400 squid. Just trying to give an informed opinion. To see if the mitox is good value for money in comparison. As for buying a used Husky 350 for £150, well i cant find one. Teh other thing is unless you know the saw or has a warranty left, you could be buying trouble. If the mitox goes pop it goes back to the local dealer. Parts available within 24 hours. 2 year warranty. At £200 new that works out at £2 a week over 2 years with change to spare. Less than a pint of beer a week.
  24. Sorry it says max cutting revs
