  1. MEWP? and what would that be in American english? A crane? I have a crane available and would have loved to use it on that tree. No access for that 30 ton Kenworth unfortunately.   2. No way to simply fell the tree without doing major damage to other trees in the fall line. A hangup would have been the most likely result in any direction available. The only halfway clear line of fall was where the children's playset was anchored, well within reach of the tree.   4. To old to climb? I started climbing trees for fun and profit at age 60. I'm 63 (and a half) now and looking forward to my fourth year of climbing in my own tree service business.
  5. I bought 150' of this "no name" rope at the ITCA convention in Pittsburgh last November. Looks great and feels good in hand.
