  1. Agreed, Fossil fuels are going to rocket in price as world demand increases, this makes lumber as a bio-fuel, which is already cheaper than oil/gas very attractive! If the woodland is privatised the owners will take advantage of this and charge us the earth for this fuel!
  2. Well as there is more money printing this will cause hyper inflation and commoditys will rise hugely in value this includes lumber, also as the worlds population increases there will be more need for lumber! Most importantly forests are a mojor source of a very usefull commodity and thats bio-fuel, as the goverment are trying to reduce CO2 emissions why on earth are they selling off our source of Co2 free energy! Once they are sold off thats it there is no getting them back from the private investors! I can gaurantee many of the buyers will be in it for one reason and thats to make alot of money, they will not care about anything else! I just hope I can get my hands on some before all the fat cats and already huge land owners get in there!
  3. Yes Lumber is going to go a similar way as gold value did when it was sold at the bottom of the gold market by gordon! UP in value! The thing is once our forests are gone into private hands thats it there is no getting it back! Forests are the source of a major Bio-fuel commodity! I see this as beng a big mistake!
  4. Well this will be the next best thing to the mistake Gordon Brown made by selling our GOLD! David cameron Selling our Lumber! Madness! But an opportunity for us!
  5. Yes sorry my post was abit vague! Im thinking of producing them, Saw dust isnt exactly hard to come buy! They sell for about £270 a ton! As the goverment are getting more hard on controlling CO2 emissions, and the costs of fossil fuels are only going to rise Surely these are going to be the best choice for future heating solutions! There is a shortage in the USA due to the cost savings over Oil and Gas so many people have turned to these as a source of effecent green energy!
  6. Hi Dave, just been reading the thread and wanted to say I hope you fully recover from this accident! I used to work in the furnture making and joinery trade and saw the results of getting complacent with the machines! hands and fingers mostly! I had a near miss when I thought I knew it all at 18years old with a circular rip saw, from that point on ive always respected the machines ive used! But ive recently re-trained and moved into arboriculture, and with that move in career complacency has crept into how I work with equally as dangerous machines in this trade! After reading whats happened to you, ive sat here thinking how silly some of the things ive done only this month are! From now on I will have thoughts of how strong you have to be if things go wrong and what great friends and family you need around you! You sure seem to have the strength and PMA (positive mental attitude) to get back doing what you love! JAY
  7. I guess they are not such a well known fuel! They are realy popular in Sweden, USA, Canada, Belgum, Etc For use in boilers as a bio-fuel!
  8. The 3.0d Hilux can Tow 2.8T Relialble, Efficent new engines, holds its value, the plus cab is big enough for kids in the back and you get a extra 280mm loading space over the double cab! But for some reason you cant get the invincable package on the plus cab! Which is a shame as that includes all the toys like sat nav etc JAY
  9. Im just looking into wood pellets, has anyone got experience in this area? Would be great to hear peoples opinions on pellets, as they are being touted as the fuel of the 21st century! Production, Effiecency, Costs, Sales, Usage Etc Thankyou JAY
  10. Ive read the older Hilux models drink Fuel! The New Hilux Is best Mpg in its class! Hilux 3.0L AT Combined MPG = 31.7 Ranger 3.0L AT Combined MPG = 29.7 Just shows how much better the new engines are!
  11. Thankyou, I thought it was abit on the light side, in comparison! Tomorrow im going to try and spend some time driving the Ranger and the Hilux! To be sure As its been said its alot of money to make the wrong choice with!
  12. Yes I think so sam! Im sticking with the Toyota! Do recommend a cab? Extra or Double, I suppose its personal pref!
  13. The Ranger does 3Ton Hilux 2250 But would toyota be being conservative on that so that the machine doesnt get over worked causing faults!? Looking at the torque the 3.0 Ranger 380Nm 3.0 Hilux 360Nm 2.5 Ranger 330Nm 2.5 Hilux 343Nm Maybe im not decided! wish i could have each for a week
  14. I think due to the ford factor im goting to go for the Toyota Hilux! I know the Ranger is a Re-badged Masda which is good as its likely to be more reliable than if it was ford made! But from what ive heard they still have issues! Also Ford have never been well known for customer service and after care! Now ive got to try and decide on the Extra Cab or the Double Cab Another hard choice why cant they all be the same lol
  15. Thanks for the relpys guys! Im Looking at the newer models of each! Possibly buying new although there is a long wait for them if buying new! The thing that got me thinking of the Ranger is its better value for money, you get more extras as standard and you can have the Thunder package on the super cab although it only comes in the 2.5L, Also you get the suicide doors which are better than folding seats to get in the back! You cant have the Hilux Invincible package on the Extra Cab, there is a 285mm loading difference between the Extra Cab and the Double Cab! So id thought the Extra Cab would be the best option as im having to give up my main car for abit (i never have anyone in the back anyway) You get extra loading space and still extra room in the cab, but you dont get all the toys and luxurys you do on the Invincible! (And we all like our toys!) Hum I dont know lol hard choice! Also the Toyota will hold its Value best!
  16. Ok so ive done some more reading and was set on the Hilux! But the Ford Ranger is also in the picture now, has anyone got any opinions on the Ranger V's the Hilux? For or against? Cab sizes? Engine Sizes? Thanks guys JAY
  17. The Circlip is also known as the Jesus Clip! Thats what you say as it goes flying past your ear!
  18. Hey Thanks guys for your thoughts,, Much the same as my own! Its good to see the Toyota Hilux is still a favorite even after all these other models have come out trying to compete! I Went to Toyota this afternoon after posting on here and got the Brochure on the latest model, looks great, think I will have to book a test drive! JAY
  19. Im looking to buy a new Pick up! Has anyone got any opinions on which is the best and most reliable to go for? Ive had a Toyota Hilux for 7 years im thinking of Getting a new one! But in that time many more have come to the market, so am considering others! My cousin has a Nissan Navara and has gone through 3 clutches in as many years! thankyou for any replys in advance! Jay
