  1. Hi, Didn't realise that there were so many of us here.

Strictly speaking im registered as a bucheron, and have found work here to be a mixed bag. Most of my time has been spent buying and selling firewood, but Im seriously toying with the idea of branching out into arb.

I would be looking to do my climbig courses in the uk, to complement my existing forestry ualifications.

I keep getting asked if I do ariel work and have to turn down a lot of work.

Im in souther manche, near Villediue les poeles. (50)

  2. This would have to be done to a new muffler, as the old one has a piece broken off and rattleing around inside. Im worried that if i drill too big a hole that its money down the drain. Also the braizing, is it strictly necissary? instead of a spark screen, could i drill multiple small holes?

I know i sound like im fussing, but i really am that stupid when it comes to maths and metal working!:confused1:

What size of drill bit would you recomend for one hole?/ multiple holes & how many?

  3. Nice, Im new to this forum and its nice to see that people stick up for one another here. We are all on the same team, and its great to see a video posted despite the risk of it getting knocked, like the vid Dadio posted.

Good shot, considering the bent trunk, and the bounce- well done for the fell, and well done for posting it. Ballsiest move i ever seen, mav!:thumbup1:

  4. Hello people,

I need a replacement exhaust for my trusty ms390, and have heard a lot of people singing the praises of modified mufflers.

Can anyone tell me if they are available pre manufactured? I dont have the skills to make my own, and think that there must be a gap in the market for a pre fab offering.

I use this saw commercialy along with pro grade stihls, and cannot fault it for reliability.

  5. My Uncle was a N/T warden and has a 180 that is his only saw, and uses it for a lot of applications. Its a few years old now and has cut many loads of firewood, felled and thined both hard and softwood plantations.

    He swears by it!

I use saws a lot, and have found Huskys to be very ergonomic to use, when they arent breaking down. It may just be me, though my colleages seem to have the same experience, but start/ stop switches fail and fuel leaks are common.

Go for stihl if you want reliability-
