  1. Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last posted as I stopped selling firewood several years ago. I'm looking to recommence selling this winter on a small scale as I'm still getting phone calls but unable to process myself. Are there any suppliers of 45 x 60cm firewood nets (seasoned hard or soft), and also kindling via pallet or local delivery? Postcode is E4 7RA. Many thanks!
  2. Once again a quick cold snap has led to panic buying and our firewood store looking slightly empty! As a result I'm looking for quotes for Seasoned Softwood or Soft/Hard Mix Nets in 45cm x 60cm. Interested in quantites of between 3-400 Nets delivered (if possible) to E4 7RA. Please PM if you would be able to supply with quote. Thanks!
  3. What would you say it costs per click for a good response?
  4. Just out of interest how do you guys go about sourcing this stuff? Who would you suggest visiting locally? Do you buy it in or are the suppliers just grateful to get it off their hands? Thanks!
  5. Sorry for a lack of input everyone - I've been away in Devon enjoying the summer sunshine on the beach Loads of great feedback guys it's all appreciated! The website is flash as I use a popular flash based online webiste builder. Would there be a significant difference regarding traffic if it was in HTML? I'm in no ways an expert on the subject but my website costs very little and was reasonably succesful last year.
  6. I've been busy beavering away with my new website for the last couple of weeks and just wanted some feedback on the design/content. Anything which shouts out at you please let me know - any critiscisms kindly welcomed (within reason hehe) The majority of my sales last year came from my website so I thought I'd go up a gear and introduce an online order form. Has anyone else tried this? I want to start taking payments online aswell but have decided to go for paypal invoicing to start of with. Has anyone got experience of taking online payments for logs - are there any major problems you've come across? Thanks!
  7. I used to cut all of my kindling by hand but soon got bored of it. My firewood to kindling net ratio probably works at around 10:1. It's very time consuming, I don't think you can ever justify doing kindling by hand as being a sustainable method. Per the hour, you'll always earn more on the firewood. I'd always reccomend buying it in - you mite be giving someone else a slice of your pie but you'll end up selling a better product for less hassle
  8. I'd love to take chippings if I knew what to do with them...other than mulching that is
  9. I sell firewood and have lost a tree surgeon who tipped his arb arisings here quite regularly. I am happy to take rings and any long stuff up to a length of 1 metre - no chippings though sorry! Everything is processed through a chainsaw/log splitter so must be moveable by hand. We have good access and available throughout the week. If your interested, please PM me with details.

  11. Very positive feedback so far from my listing - two phone calls this morning straight from the directory Seems to be producing some very good leads!
  12. Had the pleasure of seeing my loggys get their big break on TV last night . Volkswagen used our farm to film their '60 years of man with van' advert and low and behold whilst munching on my pudding in front of the TV last night, on came my logs! Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (UK) | Buy a VW van today They appear for only a second or two but what the hell - they're on the pick-up towards the end of the advert. Quite a nice advert actually...makes me want a VW
  13. I struggled to keep my eyes on the screen let alone doing that for real! I'll stick to my Husky - I prefer the sharp spinny bits to face away from me personally
  14. Holy cow that's some serious traffic...interesting how the majority of traffic is firewood related I think my stats are some what insignificant in comparison...oh well size isnt everything... Analytics Report.pdf
  15. Do we have any initial data on impressions/hits for the site and for website driven draffic from the listings yet out of interest? I love the layout and the google map feature - the big juicy space around Essex/East London is definatly tempting
