Is they an ideal vehicle or what would be the ideal vehicle for collecting wood chip from jobs or yards
I keep wanting to collecting Chips from jobs for other tree companies or from they yard but don’t no what vehicle would be good to use
-
It’s mixed species and all different lengths
we used thinking about chipping it and using for biomass

Hi
I was wondering how much is slab wood worth or how much should we paying for bundles of slab wood
because the local sawmill maybe looking for a buyer but don’t no how much we should be paying for it

If your selling and producing wood chip for biomass do you have to through the big companies or can you supply straight to the power station because we produce around 25-150 tonne a week of wood chip/ shredded material and have always wonder how to deal direct with the power station. All our material is screened before been sent out we also screen Arb chip again to make its clean.

Does anyone offer a service to collect log and chip from sites for other tree surgeons.
If so so what do they use for collecting it.
The reason I ask is because I've got a 40yd skip in my yard which is doing nothing apart from every so often getting filled with logs. So I was thinking about letting other tree surgeons use it for log and chip and empty in my yard as we recycle everything for biomass. As long as they sorted they own movement for the skip from they job and back. And a little deposit if we didn't no the person or company for the bin

Do many companies offer a service to drop a roro skip for chip and log from jobs or clearing yard out. Or what else they use instead of a roro.
Because been thinking about doing. But don't no if it would be worth it.

What do you do with the offcuts of logs which people won't buy because the stems have to be a certain length
Does anyone collect logs and Woodchip from jobs. If so what do people use for collecting them.
''And do people charge for the collection service.

I’m happy to leave a bin for a couple of days. I’ve got a couple of separate customers that are planning on buying their own bins that can slot into my system so that they have always got a bin and I don’t have to outlay the costs of several bins.
As for the charge yes the clock starts when I leave my yard and it stops when I return. So if you have to drop you charge they and back twice. When you first started doing it how did you advertise it

Forgot to add. No we don’t take green waste. I used to let a couple of lads tip green and fence panels on the fire pile for a small fee. I had to put a stop to this though as others who hadn’t asked took it upon themselves to tip when I wasn’t around and not pay and within a couple of weeks I had a monster fire which was difficult to burn safely.
We have toyed with the idea of getting a shredder and advertising as a tip site but went off the idea as you can’t regulate who comes onto your property.See my business is green waste recycling so we get lots of people in but we share a yard with my dad so people can only get in if the Gates are open. If you had to leave the bin do you charge for that. And when you charge do you do this by charging the time you leave to time you get back.

I use a 40yd bin. At the minute I only have the one and a plant body for moving my machines around. But if we need more than one to run on rotation I’ve got a mate that is local who has usually got a couple sat in the yard doing nothing.
The one chap I collect from gets his mate in to load it with his avant. Took us about an hour to load through the back door.Do you charge for log and chip. And do you collect green waste

I have a similar setup to you albeit on a smaller scale. It’s also something we are starting to offer as we have not long bought a six wheel hook loader and we offer a free tip for chip and logs to local lads. I have just been charging for my time in the truck to deliver and collect the bin. Hope this helps.
ChrisWhat size bin you use

I (a)genuinely think it’s a good idea and (b)live fifteen minutes from you. A twenty or forty yard skip that could be left for a day or few at a job and filled with brash, logs and chip in my own time would be ideal.
Do you use my yard at the moment
it would likely be a tractor and trailer type roro
-
So does anyone think the idea may work or has anyone do a similar idea or same thing
-
What about wood chip do they charge for that
-
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Like charging for green waste and unchipped material. Chip free and logs free
-
Do many large companies offer this kind of service and charge for it. Or is it a free service
-
We screen all our chip and the chip we receive in the yard. Especially conifer so the woody chip goes for fuel and the leafy bit goes for a mulch type product. As we mix both before the screening process with dry chip we've had sitting for months.
How much would you charge for the collection or does anyone do it now.

I'm just looking for ideas how I could expand my business but also help others and make money so that's y I was thinking about a collection service for chip and logs. About like a skip hire. But only doing Roro or grain trailer.

We accept any chip and logs so leylandii wouldn't make a difference to us we re process it all anyway. I was thinking more of the big roro skips for the site clearance jobs or a job with access for a lorry or a tractor and trailer
-
I've been thinking about expanding my green waste recycling business and offering a hire services for tree surgeons when they doing big jobs. So they could hire either a grain trailer or a 40yd skip so they can chip into or put logs in to be taken away. So does anyone offer this service.

If anyone needs a tip site in the north east I have a yard in Chester le street. we accept clean chip and logs for free. chip mixed with brash or just brash we charge per load for.
if need the facility please inbox me or text me on 07841 875650. we accept any chip and logs even conifer and poplar

I was wondering how many screen wood chip or shredded chip for biomass. At the we screen all of our shredded green waste and all the chip we receive for mulch and the wilton power station. the shredder we have is a doppstadt ak530 and the screener is a power screen 1400. we do about 75tonne per week for wilton of 10-50mm chip and 50-150 tonne per week of -10mm chip for penrith

Would you use a roll on off lorry or use a roll on off tractor trailer type combination
I’ve already got 1 or 2 40yd bins but unable to move them but if people or companies where interested I would get somewhere of moving them.
‘How would you offer the service of a roll on off bin for chip or log materail
