Thats list price, no one in the trade pays that, you should get at least 20% off that.
surely everyone buying a top handled saw is in the trade ???

home by three my arse
Massive beech, four silver birch, all on a steep bank over a house, no protection. The best bit, covered in IVY
Jesus I hate the stuff.

but then the yanks manage to kill 30,000+ a year with guns. 32 with chippers is going good in comparrison.

I'm not questioning that at all steve. Please don't think that I was.
-
hey paul, maybe you've got a forgetable voice as well as a forgetable face
-
ask him to pay you up front, if not all then a percentage
hey there steve, I like alot of what you say but I've got a problem with asking for money up front. It's always been something I've avoided even when people offer. I don't know why, perhaps because I've been round to places where cowboys have got money up front and started the job and then done a runner as soon as the clients back is turned.

where there's one there more. get a man with a ferret round and it will drag them out of the nest. saves them dying from poison and stinking your house out.

Im going to make this a serious foraying trip and wait till i have all the right kit to do it justice, it looks like just the sort of thing I would get a massive kick out of, especialy looking at the accomadation and location!
Book in advance, we run about 6 months ahead on bookings. I'd join you for a forage. Found some ceps last year and a hedgehog mushroom. great eating.

The wife is putting her feet up today and me and the boy are in charge of the kitchen.
Sounds like another day in the life...

Something the wife and I have got going over the last three years. I wanted a way out of this industry when I get too old to hack working in the rain.
They're booked up until mid september right now. There's good fungi hunting (hamadryad) in the oak woods behind the yurts (although I wish I could take a saw to the rhodies) and some quite peculiar moribund woods of mature and decaying oak, beech and alder tothe side.
There's some awesome heritage trees on site, (ancient sweet chentnut with estimates between 400-1400), trees with unbelievable epiphytes for the uk, and generally a nice place to kick back and relax.
Winter is a good time to come. The last one was a beautiful. Clear, dry and crisp. Snow around to play. Toasty warm inside. Even better, you get to burn someone elses wood too!

If you head to skye then the walking into the Quiraing is great. Volcanic spires and plugs make it quite an unlikely place. Surprised no ones used it in a film yet. A visit to the upper or lower table is very scenic or a walk along the ridge. You don't have to be a climber to get there.

The trees or the yurts

with thanks to Steve for allowing this thread...
I'd like to extend a 10% discount to all arbs.
Full Circle Luxury Yurts in the Lake District
Just quote my username if you call.

Don't know. Am speaking for the lake district national park. Here all tree works in the park go through the parks own tree officers. The council have nothing to do with it. You could always calling them and saying a branch has fallen off and hit someone, can they come round straight away or else you're going to sue them!
-
I imagine you'll love the tree scenes in avatar. (and the 15ft scantily clad blue aliens climbing them)
-
I'm with you on the transdimensional vibration bollocks (my own opinion of course) that the book concludes with.
-
national parks act in part like a local council on planning issues
-
Have you been watching avatar too much last night?
now they new about tree worship and would make great arbs.
Seriously though, the tree worship was the most interesting part of that film for me.
It's a little low brow in comparison to some of your quotes but the vision of the future in the Celstine Prophecy I think had each community revolving around a grove of heritage trees for there spiritual focus.

looked up my home address and saw the trailer that was nicked 9 months ago
