  1. Do you have to run the saw on Aspen from new Rob??

Regarding your question: when you start to use Aspen in older engines, >15 years, you may get problems with the membranes in the carburettor going stiff. These can be replaced. Or if engines with a lot of piston ring groove deposits can suffer from piston seizure but this is very unusual. A normal deposit layer with working piston rings is no problem.

  2. Apologies for the shock tactics - our intention isn't to insult anyone that is not using alkylate fuel - but we do find it increasingly frustrating that professional users are not being told about the dangers of emssions.

It may not be new to some but it was certainly new to the hundreds of arborists we spoke to at the Arb Association show last week.

It is reality for those who spend eight hours a day with their nose inches away from these harmful emissions.

And it's not just benzene - chainsaws have inefficent 2 stroke engines with no catalytic convertors - often 20% of the fuel is left unburnt. Unburnt petrol contains aromatic hydrocarbons which are also a danger to our health; such as toulene and xylene.

We are a long way behind the rest of Europe. In Holland a law was passed last year that makes it obligatory to use an alkylate petrol in hand held petrol machinery.

We would welcome other alkylate petrols entering the UK market, likes Stihl's MotoMix and Cleanlife - we could then lobby local government to reduce the excise duty on alkylate petrol and pass that on to the end user.

  3. Aspen contains less than 0.01% of benzene

Ordinary pump fuel contains over 1% of Benzene - which is carcinogenic!

In Sweden, Norway, France, Germany alkylate petrol is sold in millions of litres. In Holland the use of normal pump fuel in petrol driven hand held machinery is now against the law.

Why - because; like LEAD, ASBESTOS, CREOSOTE, URANIUM - BENZENE IS DEADLY...!

Please read this hse document regading benzene exposure limits and if you are still stupid enough to using ordinary pump fuel in your chainsaw, think again!

    http://bit.ly/benzenekills

Your employer has a duty of care - please point them to this important document if you aren't using an alkylate petrol in your petrol hand held machinery.

If you don't use Aspen at least wear a mask and gloves when using ordinary pump fuel, it may just save your life...

  4. Sawdust - we'd encourage you to purchase Aspen from one of our dealers - which you can find at Aspen Stockists - clean fuels, environmental and green fuels, petrol and bio diesel in the uk

That way you can build a relationship with them and they can offer you a suitable discount for volume purchases.

However - if you are a long way from a dealer we, AAOIL, can supply you direct. We offer a professional user discount of 10%. Free carriage starts at 54 cans of the 5 litre size (270 litre). A pallet can be mixed with Aspen 2, Aspen 4, EcoPar, Agia Bio Chain oil and all our other products.

But to answer your question; for pro users Aspen 2 is £11.03 for five litres. So 50 litres would be £110.30

The other option is to become an Aspen dealer. If you think you could sell the concept and like the brand. We offer support to new dealers by helping them launch their new venture by working with local press as well as free support marketing and onsite sales training.

This would mean you could benefit from the dealer price and make some money from selling Aspen to customers, local authorities and the general public.

Mr A needs his trees and garden managed. He sees you are using Aspen alkylate petrol. You advise Mr A that Aspen alkylate petrol is the fuel to use because:

    • The exhaust gases are far less smelly and smoky than regular fuel. It also burns much cleaner

    • It contains no carcinogenic aromatics, olefins and benzene

    • People in contact with the exhaust gases get less headaches and respiratory-related problems

    • It is inert meaning it can be stored for years without deterioration and starts perfectly every time

    • It improves machine performance and ensures a longer service life, saving time and money

Because you are a professional and expert in these matters, Mr A will listen to you. He will respect you and your business for choosing a “greener, cleaner” environmental fuel to use in your equipment.

He will tell his friends and neighbours that you are doing your bit for the environment, making him feel good and the chances of him recommending you and your business increase.

It gives you the perfect opportunity to talk about your passion for your work and the environment you help protect. You naturally become a local expert on these issues.

So, Aspen alkylate petrol is better for the environment, people, machinery – and business, yours and ours.

And - if you think you could help us build our brand and sell the concept of Aspen - please contact us about becoming a dealer. You can sell Aspen on to your customers, local authorities and the general public, helping your business improve it's profitability.

  6. EcoPar is an ultraclean engine fuel for ordinary diesel engines (Swedish pat. No. 522

918, other patents pending). Compared to diesel oil, emissions of many carcinogenic

substances decrease by more than 90%. The content of NO2 in the surroundings

    decrease by up to 50%.

The amount of visible soot is reduced,

and the total toxicity of the emissions

de creases considerably. Net emissions of

carbon dioxide (CO2) decrease by 30 to

50% measured over the whole lifecycle

    accord ing to ISO 14040.

Users that earlier have been troubled

    by diesel engine emissions experience

    dramatic reductions of negative health

    effects. Common health discomforts from

diesel exhaust are headaches, nausea, and

irritation of eyes, nose, throat and skin.

EcoPar is suitable for all applications

where work in diesel emissions cannot be

    avoided, e.g. construction and building,

mining, park and road maintenance, inner

    city vehicles, forestry, storages, waste

    handling, etc.

Due to the low risks to health and the

environment EcoPar is not classified as

hazardous goods according to the international

    ADR/RID, IMO and IATAregulations.

  7. EcoPar - the clean alternative to diesel.

EcoPar diesel is the latest clean burning diesel made from natural gases. It contains no sulphur, no aromatics and no benzene. This is the equivalent of alkylate petrol in cleaniness. It is ideal to use in all diesel engines operating in areas that are not well ventilated or near aquatic environements.

EcoPar meets the current EN590 standard for diesel fuel and is available from stock. EcoPar is also available died red for stationary diesel engines (lower tax).

Chippers, generators and even vehicles need no modification to use EcoPar.

Works in combination with Aspen to offer your customers a low impact fuel solution. Quote them a cleaner option and let them decide!

  8. What is Alkylate petrol?

The name comes from the word alkylation, which is the name of the process used to extract the raw product.

The alkylation process takes place at oil refineries through surplus gases from the crude oil distillation and cracking plant being mixed. The result is a alkylateliquid. This liquid is the purest extractable petroleum product.

The alkylate is then mixed with a number of other components and we now have a finished product, ready to be used in most small engines.

Better for your health, the engine and our environment

When you use Aspen alkylate petrol, you avoid dangerous substances such as benzene and aromatic hydrocarbons, substances that can cause serious health problems. The engine is also treated more kindly, for example, the spark plug and combustion chamber are kept cleaner. The petrol can be stored and even after long periods of no use, your engine starts without any problem if your tank has been filled with Aspen alkylate petrol. Environmentally, there are numerous benefits, e.g. the formation of ground-level ozone (smog) is reduced by more than 50 %.

    Maximum efficiency

Small engines are often uncomplicated and are technically simple engines with less than optimal combustion rates. This means that much of the fuel escapes unused. This, in turn, has a negative impact on both the environment and you, the user.

The following machines benefit from Aspen alkylate petrol:

Lawn mowers, grass trimmers, snowblowers, rotavators, outboards, chain saws, clearing saws, hedge shears, mopeds, power stations, motorcycles.

    With or without oil

There are two main variations of our petrol: Aspen 2 and Aspen 4.

Aspen 2 is a ready-mixed petrol with 2 % fully synthetic two-stroke oil. Aspen 2 is used for all two-stroke engines except outboards, which need the addition of a special outboard oil. Aspen 4 is not mixed and is used in four-stroke engines and two-stroke engines with separate lubrication.

  9. Chief Engineer at Aspen Sweden said - "Strictly alkylate fuel is outside the spec for UL95 and therefor it is outside the fuel recommendation from the manufacturer, but in any case that a damage to the engine by the fuel, the fuel supplier is liable, so it does not change very much. In Sweden and some other countries we have an oral OK to use alkylate fuel in Briggs and Honda machines and we are now running tests with Honda in Sweden and B&S in the USA, to get an approval. As of today we have written approvals from Husqvarna, Stihl and Dolmar. By the way, this also the case for their bought engines."

We can supply a copy of the written approvals if required - just email us at [email protected]

  10. Aspen fans will be pleased to hear that the new Fill Partner Autofiller for the Aspen 5 litre has passed extensive trials. I am pleased to say it came through with flying colours against the other leading brands. It is now available to order from our collegues at GVG in Holland. We will have 400 off in stock from next week and will be distributing them, on request, to our dealers around the UK. However if you are a pro user who orders Aspen direct we can tag them onto your next Aspen order.

Pictured together with the environment combi-can we now have all-in-one solution to fit your needs.
