Petrol sounds the best action so far! But I will try some others first that don't endanger my hair. As for stabbing myself, already done that! Buy a new one? No that involves spending money so that aint happening. It was my great and trusted but rather simple at times groundy that did in the first place, we were pulling ivy off the side of the house with the landy. so now to think up a suitable punishment for him. If I catch him not wearing a helmet he gets hard things thrown at him from graet heights, no gloves and he gets to hold pine with sap all over it, you get the idea. Can't think what to do about the knot, maybe get him to hold it as I light the petrol?

I have a vice and will try that next, I wondered about soaking it, will also try that. It's one of my old climbing ropes. I don't have a fid, I will google it and see how much they are. I've always wanted to be able to splice rope.

I've got a lovely knot which has been pulled super tight, tried pliers, sticking a screw driver in and brute force to try and get it un done but no luck. Any trade secretes to help me out??

I take bets with the guys I work with to see how long they will stay on hold for while we work away. Great fun.
