  1. Hey up, I failed my PTI first time round (63%), inspections and fungi ident's were great my let down was the written exam, I found the wording difficult to decipher, has anyone got any links or the like for me to be able to tackle some example questions? I felt that the wording was at a higher level than I've studied at i.e. university level whereas I maxed out at A level and ND. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to be re-taking it asap
  2. Hi Jake, It was at Apex Arb, Uttoxeter. Great course, Terry's a top tutor, he's seen me through most of my training over the years

  4. Hey up, I've got a semi-mature Beech to do some work on. It's a typical case of the owner of a new home wanting it hit hard due to the fact that 'there are leaves in the gutter'. Fortunately it's got a TPO on it so first port of call is to get in touch with the tree officer to ask what they say we can do. I've suggested that a thin would mean that they'd get some dappled shade but I know that Beech suffer from bark scorch if too much light is allowed into the crown so what is the best way to combat this? Any knowledge on Beech pruning techniques will gratefully be accepted. Thanks lads n ladies
