I've bought my wife a new logsplitter, I'm sure she'll like it
I bought my ex wife a set of tyres and shocks for her car for Christmas.
Maybe that is why she is an ex?
SWMBO has a new to me/her Stihl 044 with a shiney new 24" Oregon bar and 75LP loop

What you doing on here Nick?
Rapid 17 MK2 (.177). Ben Taylor reg and tuned but restricted to 12ft/lb (I can then leave it conveniently to hand for squirrels!).
Others........too many
Oh and 2x .22LR; .45LC lever action; .223; .243; .303; .44 BP rev; 12 gauge

Here's my Husky 350 muffler mod. No port mods........yet.
Carb 'H' adjustment cam stops trimmed off to allow a more richer mix (very marginal).

Hi
I think you have a valid point and although the humorous replies had me laughing, I also do empathise with you on this issue. It is probably too much to lobby that the nation goes over to yellow lights, but you can buy yellow bulbs for your own vehicle. The French have been using them for years.
But they don't any more, to be 'EU compliant' ?

Doubt it.
Numpties will buy anything over this Xmas period and cold snap just to have something 'warming in the grate'. Not that it will do much of that but the local supermarket will do a roaring trade in firelighters....and later the local sweep in tar build-up removal.

Just had a mail back from Mark at New Chain..... Even though he is en vacance he is checking his email.
If the bar doesn't arrive tomorrow I will be giving him a call. It should be here - recorded

More evidence of Tesco incompetence...
...and that fact I should read my posts to check for typo's

Recce you will probably know may mate Roguetrooper off ORRP?

Cheers Quickthorn. Did it come via 1st class signed for, or Parcelfarce?
Their e-mail and text reply was spot on and a few queries I had re. the order were answered within 5 mins. Outstanding.
The order is probably lost in post somewhere (not that it helps me) but I need them either to cancel the order or get me the bits. Luckily I do not need them for any business that is hanging on it. Just want to get the rest of the 4ft Walnut ringed up before I go back to work after Christmas.
Log work keeps me warm. Working in the garage at the moment may result in my nuts freezing and dropping off

Mmmmmm. So I buy a car (without a licence - no legal requirement for purchase) then mow down a bus que. My fault or the car supplier?
Training is a good thing but it does not replace common sense and experience....if that individual has a quota of the latter? 357XP is a good saw but take it easy from nowt to that with no saw exp?
I assume it is not going to be used as part of your business. i.e. insurance liabilities and they always want bits of paper to cover their chuff.
In answer to the OP thread starter. Wrong bar. Get them to replace it!
I don't s'pose the chain was 3/8" LP on .050" slot just to confuse matters - though with a 3/8 sprocket that is a bit of a pointless comment. I'll get me coat

What about taking loads of ecstasy and blowing a whistle now and again?
Big box, small box, Big box, small box. Reminds me of Kevin & Perry go large and that partlcular episode of Spaced!
I suffer the same problem and when I started driving halogens were the norm
The problem seems to be increased these days by poorly adjusted headlights and those that think front fogs/'driving lights' need to be on 24/7. 'Yes, you can see better with 4 halogens running but I could also see better when I leave my full beam on'.
My initial solution was to get prescription glasses with an anti-reflective coating. This helped a bit and I also drive with the rear view 'clicked up' to reduce the glare. But this pair are so scratched to make that coating now pointless
The comment about laser eye correction. I thought that either of the srd traetments made your eyes more sensitive to bright lights?

It happens around this way so much I don't even ring the trunk up until I'm ready to shift it.

I only cut firewood for our own burner but twice this week I have been stopped and asked if I sell logs. Good business there for someone if they have the time; the logs and the customers will pay a fair price....that is the main problem?

I have tried to call but they appear to now be on vacation until Wednesday
-
Placed an order Tuesday lunchtime with http://www.NewSawChains.co.uk in Christchurch for a new bar and a few chains for the 044. Cust service guy e-mailed and texted back within the hour to say they would be out that day, and with me the next (Wednesday). Very prompt I thought and a good sign when dealing with a new Co.
Now I know it is the Xmas post so I expected a day or so delay. It is now Saturday and any sign of them....no.
What I should have done is drive down and pick up (20 miles from me) but their postage was reasonable (cheaper than fuel) and the promised delivery was fast. mmmmmm.
What I have to say is their prices are good and I hope they pull their finger out or that one point in their favour is worth nowt.
I am probably jumping the gun but has anyone else used them and what were your experiences?

Hi all. New to the forum and just thought I would pop me head above the parapet as it were?
Cut wood for the log burner at home by mainly helping out other locals that need trees gone and I need wood so....
Saws currently Husky 141 15", Husky 350 18" and Stihl 044 24" all with muffler mods and minor tweaks.
Arb work is not my day job. Most of the time it's carrying out engineering work in the pharma industry and hopping all over the globe. But the family need to keep warm after all?
Cheers,
Paul

I assume he was underneath the root ball and trying to relieve the last few roots?
Sad loss but it pays to use the right gear and not support +2 tonnes of wood and soil with some timber props and a car jack?
