i got really mad with the 110 yesterday, had parked it nose first at an awkward angle over the ground anchor log as usual, with a full load of chip to drop off and the battery was flat as a fart, (my fault the trigger wire for the alternator had fallen off the battery again) so i fetched the disco round to bumpstart it backwards but couldn't get enough speed or traction on the muddy gravel, jumpleads didn't work because they don't get enough current through the connections so i pulled the battery off the chipper and fitted that to the landy to start it. i love my landrover too but sometimes its a bit grrr

hi rovers90, the 110 hicap is more like 1.5cube for a level load if you count the wheelboxes and the fuel triangle:001_smile: but thats being really picky because i measured mine lastweek:thumbup:

same story here, haix protector pro's starting to peel away on the side of the sole after 12mths, im going to get them into a decent cobbler when i get a spare minute, the last pair were fine just soles wore out, i might drop them in at the same time for new soles and keep them for a spare set. 12mths is all you can expect, anything more is a bonus i reccon. hate the pressed steel hitch on the timberwolf too, its starting to lose its shape a bit at the front lip from rolling it into the ball too hard:thumbdown:

good garages are worth their pay, i just got back from dropping the disco off at the garage knowing that they will fix it and i can trust them not to rob me, i use Home - Bensons Garages because he is a landrover wizard. i have worked in garages when i left school till i was a fully qualified technician/fitter and get really picky when other folk fix my cars, but not having all the tools/workshop/time i needed someone i could trust and this guy is ace..

the name 110 or 130 refers to the vehicle as it came from the factory, yes it is roughly the length and everybody knows that:001_smile:, but if it left the factory as a 110 and is now the same length as a 130 it is still a 110 like it says on the logbook, unfortunately i know someone who has a 110 that is the same length as a 90 which might take some explaining as its changed from lwb to swb:blushing:

Had some bugger poking around the sheds in our back garden the other night. Didn't get into them, but im sure they'll be back. Got in over next doors fence.

and they flippin bite too, not just sycamore forks but an old woman client of mine had her whole arm in a bandage after a squirrel attack, i saw one get run over a while ago and that seemed pretty quick and painless.

whoa whoa whoaa, an hour in a micromachine at warp speed nine if i remember rightly, i'm expecting a couple of hours at least in the old tug..

only the half inch cableties are regarded as structural, anything else is just a bodge:thumbup:

I remember haven a barrell of laughs in the floods out near the 11 arches in Loughborough. I had a sherpa van, drove through with both doors slid wide back and a massive wake behind me. Some numpty came the other way thinking he could make it in a little hatchback. He got my wake which went right over the top of his car. I didn't stop to find out if he made it through being the ignorant little git that I was. The piccies bring back a few memories of rabbiting over on the fox covers and watching the soar burst its banks.

had a similar experience a few years back, but it was a police car with the window down:blushing: was i going to go back to see if they could swim? no way:thumbup:

I've got some rounds from trees that have just been taken down and I'm just wondering if I should split them now or season them for a year or so and then split them?

they dry out faster when they are split due to having a much higher surface area for moisture to escape from:thumbup1:

not a big fan of coats, usually just a couple of sweatshirts and maybe a hoodie if its freezing, always forget to bring spares which mean spending all day wet, might have to get a waterproof container somewhere in the cab for spare dry jumpers/t'shirts.

that big beech at myerscough is certainly a good size, part of a lesson on bracing had us looking up into the crown for wires in strong wind, didn't feel safe to be standing under it when it was so blowy.

we just have a fire basket in open hearth, it only warms the front room, the rest of the house is gas central heating, im not happy till its stacked halfway up the chimney and roaring like a goodun.. proper waste of nice wood (except to dry hiflex/haix etc)

been eying up a tracked dumper i spotted in a clients garden, its on rubber tracks, approx 4ftx3ft bed tips and lifts/tips, has a seat at the front, honda petrol engine running the hydraulic pump but would change for a diesel engine to save money, not sure what make/model yet, having a play with it this tuesday before i bid for it, guy says it carries 800kg, would make extracting thinnings out of our wood easy up the slippy narrow track:001_smile: i'll pop a few pics up during the week. Ed.

dean, you are going to be overloaded before you get any chip in the landy carrying all these dictafones and printouts, (especially with that steel backbody) but really there needs better definition of the rules:001_smile:
