  1. RCO = Reg Coates ehh. Well, thank you Reg. Didn't know you thought so well of me, brought a tear to my eye:blushing: Can someone tell me what the name of the best UK trade show is? Sounds like a good idea. Sounds like fun. Plus maybe by then we will have more products to show besides the X-Rigging Rings and slings. I should have patent pending status on a few items any day; thus I can reveal them.
  2. ha ha! Perfect, that's how you all are supposed to talk. Made me laugh for sure!
  3. wow, I tell ya, there are some really cool, solid, helpful people in this industry. Yes, there are some that try to tear you down, but more really great people. I've never met August and only recently learned about him. He hasn't had the X-Rigging Ring slings long, but ALREADY did a video showing them and even titled it referring to the rings! Wow, thanks August for spreading the word. Maybe a small guy like me will make it after all. Steve, you are coming to the states real soon? I'll give you a bunch free. You going to be near Maryland at all? Or email me an address in the states I can mail them to. I have not contacted any arborist supply company in the UK yet. I don't know them, or who to contact. But I would be very interested in helping supply them with X-Rigging Rings and knowledge on splicing configurations and allow them to splice "in-house" if their company does that. I know of Stein a bit, due to Reg, but I never contacted them. If anyone wants to steer me in a good direction, please write me at my Xtreme Arborist email. [email protected] Other new products will be revealed soon too. Plus we have some amazing new sling configurations that no one has ever seen before. The rings are made it Italy, so I could have them shipped directly from Italy to the Arb store in the UK; so shipping would actually be quite cheap instead of it coming to the USA and then back to Europe. Thanks August, didn't know you even used this arbtalk. Someone texted me to check it out.
  4. Great to watch, but the music killed it for me. i stoped it half way through. That's right, I totally forgot that most of you brits dislike this type of music. This happened once before on another one of my videos. Sorry, I probably should not have posted it here.
  5. It's been a while since I've put out a fast moving video. I have tried to put out a decent felling compilation here. See what you think. It's those last moments that are exciting as the tree falls, so I put together just that in hopes it is interesting to viewers. Hope it is enjoyable: I plan on getting back into the video editing and make the next ones better.
  6. last for now,
  7. i think this was my first crane assistance. 1999 written on back of picture, someone had a panoramic camera and took pictures, i think maybe someone from the welding company that owned this crane. Sugar maple fell on house in storm. I trimmed everything off that wasn't under pressure, then had crane lift back to more vertical and I peiced out the rest of it untill we had enough room to lay the trunk down. I don't remember all the details, but was excited about the day.
  8. don't know why pictures showing up so small, that was the whole scanners view. I'll put up two more scans and then I'm done for now, taking a long time on this...... I did pull out a small stack of stuff to show, more later maybe.
  9. here is a newspaper clip from when i was in forestry college and got a small scholarship from Bartlett. also, here is my first and last totem pole I ever attempted, i was on vacation at the beach and didn't have long pants, just spurs, saddle, one chainsaw and one rope. Totem pole picture around.... 1995 to 1996 likely.
  10. trying to attach picture
  11. okay, found the picture. I will attach it. the "small" one in picture is the D88 you saw in the video. Look how big the other one is. these things hold GREAT! I tried to pull a D88 out of the ground once, thought if we pulled backwards, we could do it, put the truck in 4 low and tried.... couldn't get it to pull out. I order them from Arborist Supplies | Tree Climbing Equipment| Home | American Arborist Supplies tell them David from Arbor-X sent you hmmm, I only see "please enter URL of image", are you telling me there is no way to upload an image?
  12. here is rope rigging II video with no music. Same video with original sounds, just not music, enjoy. ARBOR-X Rope Rigging part II no music no text notes.wmv - YouTube hey, we use those ground anchors for holding trees in place that have fallen over, or very large tree planting. Like i said, the D88 was used in the video, but much larger one is available, I'll search for my cell phone picture of the size difference.
  13. thank you about the music response. i think i might now make another version with no music. about the earth anchors. The one we used was a duckbill D88 in rope rigging I. cost about $30 US. sorry, don't know the conversion. but sacrificial amount of money easily. you can't get them out, easily. the 88 is good for average of 3,000 lbs in normal soil. there is now a bigger one. MUCH bigger in size. called a model 138, hold 9,800 lbs in most soil! One is about $35 I think. comes with the anchor, plus a short cable section with an eye and thimble.
  14. can't figure out how to edit, so.... double inserts of video will have to just stay. sorry, don't know this forum well.

  16. I finally got around to finishing Part II rope rigging. Not as great as I wanted it to be, but taking too long to find the best stuff, so I just wrapped it up. Having some positive responses here in the USA , so you might like it too.
  17. Why are you checking on me. Go F' yourself. :)

  18. wow, you guys are really nice to each other. I watched the video, well... after fast forwarding a bit... then read the first page. you all are so nice and supportive! Damn. I'd say, "that was as boring as watchin' you brush your teeth" WTF? Who wants to watch a simple tree felling video? I thought for a short while, should I make a comment or not. Then I thought, what the hell, be real Xman, tell em what you think, he's got so many possitive feedback he can handle a negative. (I hope). Here is my thought. be nice an kiss butt and most of the guys on Arbtalk will respect and like me. or, be real and a few will like me, but I'll be real and feel good about not being fake. that video sucked. The End. good day...
  19. Yes, we do a lot of pruning jobs too. Just doesn't keep people's interest on a video probably, but I will put one together showing pruning, cabling/bracing and airspade work. It will be hard to keep it exciting though.... well... us arborist might like it.
  20. that made me look up your posts and I found the picture thread of your setup. really cool! I've wanted a mog for a long time now. thought a new mog would make an awesome go anywhere chip truck. A lot of you guys have to have smaller stuff because of your road laws restricting the size of things more than here in the US right? plus i hear the towns and cities have really tight streets and properties. But I do see wide open country pictures too...
  21. hey, I got a good many nice comments on my last video, so I worked on another. I had made a promise to a crane building company that I would sometime post it, so that's why i did this one next. Two Palfinger k-boom cranes used here in the video. nothing too exciting, but if you are interested in these types of cranes or want see our other equipment and how we do things here, you might like it. More big bold music though, so you brits might not like it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcQybHSORic]YouTube - Arbor-X showing tree removals w/ Palfinger Knucklebooms. PK 29002 and PK150002[/ame] oh yeah,
  22. Lol. It was a freindly finger. Easy to misunderstand reading text and probably even more so from people in another country. I don't really have a problem with what you wrote Rupe. Sorry.
  23. Good.
