  1. hello again, thank you for advice any thoughts on these sums? buy 50 tons of wood at 50 pounds per ton = 2500 pounds plus delivery, so say 3000 pounds 50 tons of wood generates 75 loads approx of about 1.2m3 each load sells for 90 pounds delivered ? 75 x 90 = 6750 is that basically what we're talking about ?
  2. quite new to this lark, doing my sums, been offered 50 tons of beach cordwood at 50 pounds a ton, does anyone have an estimate how many loads this would generate and then how much we should charge per load ? any advice welcome

  5. anyone fancy a chat about this, kick off for contracts 1st april, my sphincter is starting to go a bit !!
  6. more explained, we are a gardening company looking to expand into tree surgery work on the strength of a biggish contract we have secured commencing 1st Jan, the geography of the new work is a sort of strip that runs from Bournemouth to Cheltenham spreading out a bit to include parts of the Westcountry, this suggestion may suit a guy who is experienced and wants to start his own business but doesn't have the contracts, or it might suit a one-man band type operation that is looking to expand, or it might suit someone who is looking to retire in a few years and wants to come off the tools, i know it sounds a bit odd, but it is a genuine opportunity for the right person in the right situation,
  7. no funny business here, just looking to take the work in house, genuine opportunity for the right person who is at a certain point in their career, also sorry to those offering sub contractor services, thank you for your interest, but we are solely interested in setting up new venture, as partnership or limited company,
  8. any other bods fancy a chat about this, genuine opportunity
  9. hi stoxs, thanks for replying, my initial reaction is that Andover maybe too far away, this work is in a sort of patch that runs from Bournemouth to Bristol, but I am happy to talk about it, good steady clients and not dribs and drabs, we have a yard and office and things in the south, but we are geared up for contract gardening 07799886222
  10. We have a good chunk of work in Dorset and West of Dorset, we are subbing out currently and want to bring this in house and create our own arbo company. Anybody want to talk ?
  11. I run a reasonably large commercial gardening firm based in dorset, I am asked often to complete tree work which I sub-contract and mark up, we have just secured a new major grounds contract commencing 1st January but the tree element of the contact is substantial, that figure being in the order of 150-200k next year, one of the options available to us is to buy a small arbo company, another is to go into some kind of joint venture with an arbo company, does anybody have any advice or experience with these kinds of issues, if so I would love to hear from you, thanks
