  1. Thanks man, if that had of been a pruning job, I could have literally been working in less than 5 minutes, awesome, awesome tool this thing is
  2. yep, dbl fishermans, IMO, they run better with the wrench, the splice is too bulky to give it good grab
  3. sure, KM111-11mm, 8mm OP, 24" hitch cord, 3 wraps, 3 braids, it is barely long enough to get the biner clipped in. When I climb in my 11.5mm rocket line, i use a 25" cord tied the same way
  4. my fall plays in my mind too man lol, this is why I have embraced it and learned it inside and out. I love it, but I am guessing that the combination of the bend and the angle of the pin/bolt would lighten the weight on the hitch by at least half, Kevin B. would know for sure though.
  5. it takes half or more of the load off the hitch, that allows it to run like in DRT, actually, even smoother than DRT, do a long fast burn-out descent and you can see this in action, your hitch will hardly be marked at all, this is due to the load/friction sharing
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QdJC7ugYk0]TREEGEAR TV | Singing Tree Rope Wrench Demo - YouTube[/ame] 1:03 of the vid, Rich explains why
  7. Also, make sure it is in "work/descent" mode before you try to move the hitch, if it is loose or in neutral, the hitch will be too tight to move, the wrench has to be angled down for it to allow the hitch to freely move.
  8. what hitch are you using? remember, the RW will take half of the load, so your hitch should grab right away, but it doesn't have to be a monster-hitch
  9. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Obd8mF3ua1o&list=UUchhD5vrG2RRPm1PAxxtnwQ&index=1&feature=plcp]Ascent and changeover on the rope wrench - YouTube[/ame] a quick little vid I shot in my yard to show how fast the switch-over is from ascending to descent/working mode. I never climb DRT anymore, this is just so damn easy! (ps, figured out how to upload in HD now, just had to change the MOV file to a MP4 file, so watch it in HD!)
  10. adjust the bolt until your rope runs smooth with the hitch you like, low and slow mate
  11. I would say most people would say that a good hitch works the best with the wrench. It runs smoother than on DdRT and is so good at moving in minute increments. plus a hitch cord will last 5 times longer when used in conjunction with a hitch
  12. ahhhh, it is refreshing to see other climbers discovering the advantages to climbing on the rope wrench long live King Kevin Bingham! ;) like most of the people who try it, i have long left DdRT behind and it never comes out of my kit, not for prunes, cables, inspections, cat rescues or removals; now? it is all rope wrench/SRT... 100% of the time.
  13. we males understand innuendos best Carl
  14. Really? I have had mine thru 8 redirects and can still pull it out:thumbup1: maybe you just need a big girl pulling seriously though, sometimes it takes a bit of a tug to get in going, but once on the go, it just keeps going.
  15. well done man SRT is a different mindset for sure, more planning, but once you get it, it is amazing. I'm still a noob at this too.
  16. nope, i have an incredibly strong grip from years of heavy powerlifting in a younger day
  17. I swap between 11mm KM111 and 11.7mm Rocket line which is like tachyon, only better very stiff under load, low stretch. 8mm OP green .
  18. how many different hitches have you guys tried? I am experimenting with a few, I usually go 3 wraps 3 braids for a VT, shortened it up a lot so it grabs right off the hop, but it is a bit tighter to use
  19. I dunno man, I'm older than you and it is easier in my opinion, but then again, I am a bit of a mutant if anything, it is easier on the bod once you get used to it.
  20. I like all of them, would love to try them all too, if i had the money to spend, I would be playing on a single rope with everything that is out there, RIG, I'D, gri gri, unicender, etc.
  21. ha ha ha ha...epic man do you feel the revolution Kevin, the hum? the buzz? it is getting crazy man
  22. yeah my broski'....when is it arriving?
  23. you need to do a newer vid Kevin, showing your footlocking with the wrench, I for one would like to see it
  24. easy remedy, buy a pantin seriously, once you try this with one you'll wonder how you ascended without one!
  25. me too, good to see all you UK arbys gettin' on the bus
