  5. i may offer both in the future but i want to start as i mean to go on by offering the best and not compromising on quality
  6. I have spoken to alot of people in the logging business and everyone i talk too has got differant ideas and thats driving me screwy!!! Im soooo convinced to offer just hardwood logs and im suprised others think i should do mixed loads, im intend to do this for years and not be here today gone tomorrow

  8. Well im up and running i will post some pics later, i am having second thoughts on buying the matbro as im now thinking the job would be alot better with some sort of timber grab. Any one got any suggestions?
  9. Im in the same position myself as im just setting up, Im sure if you can supply good quality logs with good service you will be fine. the problem i see is too many people will do logs one year but not the next you have to approach it as a long term business

  11. Well ive got the processor today and by god you do need a telehandler!!! and that will be with me tomorrow. it will make the job soooo much eaiser and a hell of alot quicker

  15. Was wondering what chainsaw you all use when your wood is to big for your processor? A husqvarna 570 chainsaw has been recommended to me, I have little experiance of using a chainsaw what do you all think?
  16. well got the tractor delivered today so by the end of the week i should be proccesing and ive decided it just makes so much common sence to get a telehandler

  19. As i will be storing logs in large bags if i do get a bobcat then i can lift the bags on to my truck

  21. you do have a point so i might be better off getting a grab device fitted to my tractor and then get a log deck
  22. not got a log deck yet wanted to get the lifting sorted out first, i was thinking of building a log deck out of scaffolding poles?

  24. My start up buissness is all coming together and thanks for every ones advice My next problem is ive had the cordwood delivered and its bloody heavy!!!! So i need ideas on lifting the cordwood on to my processor???
