  1. Not a chainsaw carving more a router carving with a little hand carving on the side. The timber is Acacia, really nice colour to the grain but a little fluffy in places to carve...
  2. Nothing special sadly, its just Sitka Spruce, ok for indoors
  3. Done many times before by others, so heres one I made earlier
  4. Eyes are hand cut using various shaped chisels. I set out to try and not use hand chisels but I always end up using them, detail is my enemy it slows the work down
  5. Haven't been on for a long time but am still carving. This is something I did a few months ago. Carved in Beech and finished in Danish Oil...
  6. little dog but a big thief! lol if its not nailed down she walks off with it! an a big tea drinker too
  7. This is the finished version, I decided not to carve the back just keep it plain and smooth so as not to distract from the horses...
  8. Yep Happy accident, did burn just nice made me smile too..
  9. My attempt at the famous Manx Cat, as usual just a piece of Sitka and stands about 2 feet tall
  10. Fantastic as usual, you could do that for a living lol Also what is the wood?
  11. Pics of the back.... goodness gracious (insert other expletives mostly foul) I am sick of sanding down
  12. The back rest is from the round of the tree so I took rough templates of the ends and cut the arm rest to fit so that the sides are slotted in. This is the first I have made so I am learning and would have done things differently concerning the sides but hey you live and learn... I will post another pic tomorrow its too dark to take one now...
  13. Work continues, need to cut in the wedges for the seat and then the boring bit sanding it all down... oh deep joy
  14. Dam I should have thought of that LOL:biggrin:
  15. Just Sitka Spruce, its all I have thats big enough sadly
  16. I know what you mean!! My wife kept coming outside and giving me instructions lol bit more of here and here!! I based it loosely on my own Arab, Rewind.
  17. Ends almost complete, full size Arab horse heads.
  18. £450 Price is always a difficult one, if I was to add up the hours it took me it would cost more than that. At the end of the day if it doesnt sell it goes in my woodland garden so no biggy. The nest of barn owls that I did sold instantly that was £600. Maybe I charge to much??
  19. Yep its for sale, gone to a large Local Garden Centre, they saw them in my garden and asked could they sell them! I am of course not going to say no to them they get thousands of people through the doors (the place is to expensive for me to shop there)....
  20. Finished this recently, first go at a dog. Its a shame its only Spruce as it cracks pretty readily.. Called this " I've found it"
  21. Getting our woods mixed up eh LOL She sounds expensive
  22. When I first got married I lived near cornaa beach, lovely spot... We live in Laxey on the way to Ramsey.. The Isle of Man, Road Racing Capital of the World!!!
  23. That really is awesome, beautiful form and proportions. Can you tell me is it all done with the chainsaw or other tools as well? and what was the wood?
  24. £38 here and all pine
  25. Thats really good of you, now I wonder can the Royal Mail deliver!! I would have a problem getting it as I live in the Isle of Man LOL I do appreciate your offer though...
