  1. Stop being so short sited, the FC do a darn sight more than give grants! Forest research is VITAL, Chalara anyone?
  2. yep she is gonna be safe by tommorow!
  3. i think the current stance is it must not be moved from site. I would say log wood is fine, kept dried not allowed to dampen and used for firewood or furniture for indoor use. it would be a travesty to allow the wood products that carry no infection to be wasted.
  4. the woods fine, but they say it must be burned on site, silly as the fungi fruits from twigs and petioles/racus
  5. Im so glad im moving out!
  6. in that I could not agree more, and by the way, income tax is one tax, it is not the revenues total
  7. agreed, maybe older. and in absolute rude health too
  8. were talking about FC funds here, do we think a fair proportion of the annual funds of our taxations go to forestry? in the least forested country in europe the u.K
  9. not even a drop in the ocean,
  10. she is a big girl! no decay in any limbs so far
  11. people on benifits are such a small portion of the annual outgoings of our budget as to be not worth discussing, the reason your constantly fed stuff like that is to keep you fighting amoung yourselves while the really big fruads go undetected.
  12. its true! i surf between forums and sites looking for action! lol But then my roomy asks questions like how do we know that fossils are really dinosaurs, you lot are an escape in comparison!
  13. best post ive seen from you for ages:lol: when did we get old? never saw that coming!
  14. besides its you lot drive me insane
  15. nobodies as nuts as you Paul, your bonkers:lol:
  16. thats cos your one of them there wanna be poshens:lol:
  17. just move your account every 18 months, the times when customer loyalty was rewarded are over
  18. whatever we think about taxation the fact remains we have the lowest rates, and the rich continue to evade while the void between the working classes and the well heeled gets greater. its undeniable, if you are at the bottom, and i know ive been there, you find a system that punishes you with charges, charges only the poor pay, charges like non direct debit charges, charges like youve been in debt for a while, cant afford to pay what you owe, and debt companies charge you a rate on top of your debt, lets say council tax debt, the council sell the debt to an agency who basicaly send you threatening letters and charges for administration that equal to or exceed your origional debts. at one stage I got into trouble with my utilities bills, so they installed a pre payment meter on my gas an delectric and i now pay 10% over the odds for my fuels, they wont take it off less i pay 300 pounds as a service! I hope for your sake that you never find yourself in true poverty huck, it is not a very nice place to be, and who do you think benifits from all these extra debt charges?
  19. tax in the u.k should be more in line with European countries end of.
  20. when i saw you had replied I thought I better not reply to this one or one of the crew will have a last word and close before I could reply! Andy, Trust me mate, ive no ill wills anywhere, there was a time i was a bit stressed that i was getting old and was nothing more than manual labour, that is no longer the case, it was a mental thing, the build up to 40. Ive turned the corner, im 40 and over it and have the ear and support of ALL my peers, my dreams are as they was set out, and I am a very happy and content individual. I will always be around because there is so much to do, so much to say, and to effect. wether i am here or over there wont stop me helping others understand issues that I have the capacity to help with, thats in my nature, and Im deeply passionate about it so couldnt stop even if i wanted to. people want to pay me for stuff I give for free and its hard for me to accept, i am used to having to produce an end product not give my opinions for a wage. It may seem strange but it seems strange and alien Taking money without having gotten a strain or dirty nails for it! But im coming to terms with it, others have a higher opinion of my worth than I do and I wanted to be in the u.k in my homeland familiar ground, but its time to open my mind. My visit to Romania really did help that proscess a lot, and theres a whole new world, culture and ecosystem to study photograph and share with the at crew and i need some new material! you wouldnt believe some of the offers ive had the last 2 years, its mental, I still worry that my rep is greater than my real worth! but thats my personal issue, thats my only real problem to deal with. self belief, its a beeeearch:blushing:
  21. Not all black deposits like this are armillaria sp, but a very vast majority are. Its rare to see the toadstools, armillarias rely far more on cords to travel around and tend to fruit far less frequently than most others. Trees bleeding from armillaria attack is a common affair and often its very minor, a single channel, and nothing to get alarmed about. Its like a sleeper, and really gets its foot in the door till stress enables it to really get in. In this case deer damage and drought
  22. Andy Im over the dreams mate, my life is stagnant? you gotta be kidding me, i have been turning stuff down. quasi- political posturing, and you lot wonder why I have an opinion on AT! I tell you what Andy, when the likes of me have all but assigned ourselves to accept a Euro job offer thats so far and removed from my U.K potential and pay grade and leave you all to your own devices its not I that needs to listen, its YOU. The U.K is backwards, and until only recent days has talk of european connections and collaboration been spoken of in this area, long overdue.
  23. was trying to track it down, spent the day reading stuff! will find the exact source and return:001_smile:
  24. thats the tree that housed my first ever find, nice sample too, seems to fruit for very long periods and is strong even in the pressence of competitions, really top draw David, great documentation
