Nice toys that a 901 valmet?
I like your 1110. I use to drive a 1110D but with 6 wheels rather than 8. Oh god it was rough on the back. your forwarder guy will thank you for getting the 8 wheel one.
dont you moan alot andy 6 wheel or 8 wheel dosnt matter to me id love what ever lol.
a contractor i did some cutting for had an 1110d there a nice size machine, before it caught fire, apparently they have weak pivet joints though so thats something to watch out for.

Tirrol Fighters probably.
I'm still wearing a pair of Oregon Greens! They are almost 12 years old and I would hazard have done 8-9 years use - spin on that posh brands et al!
i agree Pfanner Klima Air Tirol Fighters are tough well from what ive heard but there expensive.
ive got a pair of treemees aqua stops which arnt to bad there really waterproof which is good especially with the weather weve been having and the treemees are relatively cheap £130/140

Husky 560 or if I was scared of autotune, husky 372
If you only had one saw to choose from then anything less powerfull would soon get boring when you needed a bit more go.[/quote
I second the 560xp i love it:biggrin:
-
Husky 372, 390 or 395 imo havnt used many stihls but husky are just as reliable as stihl with alot more grunt, maybe you should have ago with thesse saws first before you buy you might like them

what would you be charging
depends on the quality of the woodland, if your in blocks of beech with no understory where you can cut 15+ tons a day then ud be charging less per ton probaly £7.50 but if your in a coppice sites full of hazel and other crap ud want more.
also depends on how much goes for forwading the wood out probaly £5
-
Hi forgot to put rates £3.50/ £4.00 per ton. Please call 07772478072 .
how can you give rates without seeing the wood? lol it could be rough stuff, when you say £4 is that for large diametre timber or small stuff? you must be a human harvester to cut for that price
-
Im in this months journal:biggrin: an article on englefield estate, im doing the first thinnings in the pic, i wish i was in better timber lol the pics not brilliant you cant see my face but owell atleast im in it lol
-
i supply everything fuel, chains etc ive been doing it nearly 15 month so i guess anywhere from 8 or 9 ton upwoods depending on the site i guess, obviously some sites are terrible and hard to make money in im on £8.50 a ton so just wondering what other prices are
-
Mostly coppice sites generally flat, sometimes on slopes etc, I'm after the price just for cut not extract, and is 5 pound for larger stuff? I've only really done work for two contractors so trying to get a better idea of price
-
as the title says just wondering what people get paid per ton for cutting hardwood, small and large diametre?
-
another contractor on the estate i work for has 360's he has a 20 ton with warratah head, you do find with the bigger machines with the oil flow up they tend to snap small stuff when going through the head thats why hes getting a 14ton machines for first thinnings

Been doing some planting for an estate recently on a day rate and got me thinking what the prices are for planting on a piece rate.
ive been planting hardwoods bare root and from a root cell and these have either been sticked and tubes or cane and spiral
and been planting softwoods from a root cell with no gaurding
just wondering what the rought prices are?
cheers

Soft/hardwood tonne bags
in Firewood forum
Posted
Why are people picking faults lol no where has it said he's selling a ton of wood, it says ton bag of wood cause everybody should know what a ton bag looks like right! I guess he's just saying that to give an idea of what people will be getting, as for the bag that will varies I guess depending on species, size of log etc
