  1. Almost sounds tooo cheap to me! I was paying over the ton 15 years ago! But then again, it's only a Tinnywolf:sneaky2:

There are literally hundreds of Timberwolf's available to hire throughout the country and the variation in hire rates at the moment is more a reflection of the hire company's need for cash flow than true market rate.

Given the choice more people prefer to hire a Timberwolf over a GREENMUCK:001_tongue:

  2. Hi Robman49

Please can you advise the serial number of the machine as it helps with the advise offered as over time improvements to units have been made, please call me if preferred with this info.

It sounds like a drain on the system.

With the unit turned off undo positive lead on the battery and just touch it to the treminal, check to see if there is a spark when touched, the spark will not be big and you may need to do this in a reduced light environment to be able to see it, if there is a spark and you have a multimeter set it to 50vdc and put meter inline to see what power is being drawn.

Have you checked for a good earth and found this to be OK,

Have you got a GPS tracking system fitted, we have experienced problems with these in drawing current from the system.

Hope that this points you in the right direction

  3. Hi Dave

If the bottom roller has dropped down it sounds that the stub shaft has either worn or the 2 plastic bush bearings need replacing.

To remove the roller you have proceeded correctly and now need to remove the adaptor spline from the front end of the roller, I suspect that this is jammed in due to residue, it may have a 10mm through tapped hole in it, if it has put a bolt in, wind in the bolt until it cracks the seal then wiggle it out , if not use the existing holes by putting the bolts back and wiggling out, once this is removed you then will be able to remove the bottom roller and inspect the other end.

I would susupect that this has happened a little while ago and the wearing on the side plate is due to the bearins becoming worn, once repaired it will sit correctly on the supports and cause no further problems.

  4. Hi Apbell

Advixce received from others is sound. check operation of switches especially bar stop

Other thing to check is the no stress unit operation,

The sensor on the no stress should be as close as possible with the trigger wheel or ring gear, gap for sensor should be a 'fag paper' away for sensor to register.

Check SRB 500 relay is working correctly as symptoms may be relay chattering

To take no stress unit from circuit you must connect the 2 x bullet point connectors together, located in the electric box, then try the unit, if it works it may be that the no stress has given up or the no stress sensor is down or lastly the no stress has gone down, if you need further help contact me at timberwolf technical support but I will need the serial number of the unit to assist in the search for the answer.

  5. Re Timberwolf feed Roller Issues

    Arborlord

The advise given to you by Rupe is very sound. May I add a quick check to see the amount of wear can be judged by looking down the funnel and see if the roller is angled down towards the bush side. If it is, then a service is required, if not the greasing normally deals with the squeaking. Also spraying some oil or wd40 down the side of the roller (Bush Side)to wet up the bush would have the desired effect until the grease has done it's work.

  6. I'm sure she will be over the moon with you for sharing that information on the forum:laugh1:

The TW 190TVGTR will indeed be at the arb fair (and it's MUCH LESS than the £30k put about by some people) - along with the rest of the Timberwolf range. How much of your range will Overland be displaying? (blatant opportunity to promote favour returned!)

  7. Hello Scott, glad to see you've found the forum!

Unfortunately away on other business at the time of the Arb show - but have a beer or two for me! Hopefully catch up with you and Craig at SALTEX?

I really don't feel inclined to start asking your wife (or mine) about what YOU like holding in your hand!!!:w00t:

  8. the 220 is listed as a 6" machine when in fact it chips nearer 8"

so im guessing the 235 goes nearer the 9" mark in reality?

    a better price comparison would be a 200mmx against a tw150

Not sure about the 200 but the larger 220 Schliesing (can we call them Premier again now?) has a maximum vertical lift (gap between the rollers) of 160mm - so no way is 8" (203mm) ever going to fit. I think it is the age old problem of man claiming to have more in his hands than is actually the case!!! The vertical lift on the TW 190 goes over 200mm.

    Richard Marshall.

PS - Welcome back to the old world of chippers Craig and the new world of forums!!!
