  1. Firstly we have a new schliesing UK & Ireland network being built as we talk, unfortunately though they will not be displaying the new 750kg 5/6inch schliesing machine.... NO really, they won't! If you don't believe me, why don't you go and see! After trying so hard not to turn this into a sales pitch......really though, they won't! If they were then the price when the pound was worth something might not be so bad, but, they are NOT ! If they were, then the build quality would still be to the normal German high quality, but, they are NOT ! However, they will have the all new 220, the 235MX! Yes we will stop building the 220MX but our models are changing....... Honest, they will NOT have the new 5/6inch schliesing 750kg chipper(s)? Did I hear you say garden gate, NO, ah well, no need to talk about that then. I think maybe the new team will have a hand sander from 1942 and a wheel barrow at the shows this year...... Sorry all, will never do the sales pitch again!
  2. You misunderstand me, its not about selling chippers. I think we all know schliesing last the longest out of most, if not all and that isn't a sales pitch, it's a fact. We are also one of the last manufacuters that build our machines in house and all by hand, therefore we are able to make such modifications very quickly and very easily compared to other manufacturers. This is why I said that Kubota are releasing their new engines within the next year, all with electric throttle which would help this modification but to seriously contemplate a new idea first you have to understand it! I agree with your example of the car at the lights but I still don't see the gain. I see no advantage to putting additional electrics to a machine that has no productive gain, if there was, then we would all offer such a system? Wouldn't we? Especially those suppliers that have been asked to do it? This could then also apply to the high speed shredder market and they don't have such systems either. Again I see your idea but speed IMO is the downfall here. I'm not being funny but other than an engine reving, which it is designed to do and a fuel cost, what else is the idea? The costs of the electrics to be wired into control panels and control panels to control it, would again outweigh the savings. OK you could start fitting buttons and simple systems but I think we all know this would only work for a while? I'm always open to ideas but I just do not see the gain. Slow speed shredders where immediate start can happen then OK but high speed flywheels, not so sure!
  3. Lets not get into cm and inches Richard, all I can say is this one does way LESS than 750kg and it's unbraked !!! The wife (my one) is still enjoying the TIMBERWOLF thong, every time she wears it, I spank the hell out of her... SALTEX it is then ! Is that the next time I can see your new variable track chipper, or can I see it at the AA Fair? (not that I'm promoting your new products at all !)
  4. And the gain to waiting for the rollers to start is what exactly ? Regardless of if you are off getting the next bit of wood, what about the times where it is the last bit ? Surely any tree surgeon wants the machine there and ready to work, quick. Why would putting a delay be of any interest other than environment and fuel costs and fuel costs would be outweighed by labour costs ! As to the environment, that is a different topic I think.

Kubota will in the next year release their new engines with electronic throttle, so this will make this type of system easier to produce but and it is a big but, what about the time it takes to get the flywheel upto speed. Engine revs up and down are no problem, getting a 200kg disc up to speed in seconds is not so easy. You would be waiting a minimum of five seconds to get the speed on any chipper, I think ?

Not sure about the 200 but the larger 220 Schliesing (can we call them Premier again now?) has a maximum vertical lift (gap between the rollers) of 160mm - so no way is 8" (203mm) ever going to fit. I think it is the age old problem of man claiming to have more in his hands than is actually the case!!! The vertical lift on the TW 190 goes over 200mm. Richard Marshall. Hi Richard, looking forward to catching up at the Arb Fair, I think the first drink should be on you.... however, I also think that my German beer is better (yes my German beer is better than British brewed beer), so I will have them chilled and ready !!! If you ask the wife I am sure she will agree I claim to have more in my hand but schliesing (or yes we can call them Premier again), TRUE feed diameters are as follow: 105 = 140mm (5.5inch) x 200mm (7.9inch) sold as 12cm 200 = 165mm (6.5inch) x 240mm (9.4inch) sold as 15cm 220 = 190mm (7.5inch) x 240mm (9.4inch) sold as 16cm 235 = 210mm (8.3inch) x 240mm (9.4inch) sold as 18cm To all other, Richard and I have discussed on many occassions having a stand at an exhibition where all chippers are in a row and a true lickness test can be done, unfortunately it would seem that Timberwolf and schliesing, or Premier are the only two willing to do such tests, I wonder why? At the end of the day as Craig has said, there is a place for all machines in the market, well maybe not ALL. As others have said it is also a personal thing and yes the big one of all, costs...... without going into a sales pitch, because this is a discussion forum, initial costs and life time costs are two different things and without being rude I think we all know that.
