  1. Hi all, Been phoning and emailing loads of companies all day and thought it can't hurt to post here too! Just finished at Merrist Wood with triple distinction in a National Diploma in Arboriculture. Have NPTC 30, 31, 38 and 39, full clean UK driving licence, full PPE and climbing kit. Looking for any full time (ideally) or part time climbing or ground work, preferably near to Cheddar but don't mind a bit of travel. Feel free to e-mail - [email protected] or phone - 07968 205953 Or if anyone knows of any work going a mention here would be ace. Thanks, Dan
  2. That is nuts, so close to the ground! If you like heights and hiking check this out: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1xOOMe4yf4]YouTube - The King's Pathway[/ame]
  3. Hi all, I'm just coming to the end of my first year of the ND Arb course at Merrist Wood and part of my second year requires me to get a 6 month work experience placement with a tree work firm. I currently live in Surrey but will be based in Sand (Near Cheddar) North Somerset from the around the 12th July. My placement would last as long as is available until the start of the new college term in January 2010. I have NPTC tickets 30.1, 30.2, 31 and 38 (now just climbing and aerial rescue) and will be taking unit 39 in a couple of weeks. As well as weekly practical sessions involving climbing, spiking, felling, cross cutting, dismantling, branch removal and pruning work I have also had practical use of stump grinders, brushwood chippers, tractor driving and maintenance, off road vehicle driving, winches, timber cranes and use of strimmers, brush cutters, clearing saws and rotary flail mowers. We have also been recently working with MEWP’s. I own all my own PPE but no climbing gear or saws. As an employer the college requires you to have Employer's Liability Insurance and to abide by all legislation relating to Health and Safety (which I'm sure you do!) If anyone is interested in taking on a student or knows of someone who would be interested in taking one on please e-mail me [email protected] and I would be happy to send a CV and any other informaion required. Thank you, Dan
