  1. 2510 is in different league - when you put it side by side to 260/280 it looks even tinier. What's even more impressive - it has a carb heating channel, roller catcher, metal spikes and fixed bar nut yet it weighs half a kilo less than 260. Don't put it side by side to your 260 unless you're selling it :))))

Having both saws, I agree with you, this new saw is a leap forward in many respects, there is nothing to touch it at this moment.:thumbup1:

  2. I have just taken mine into a tree for the first time, it is a great saw in the hand, very light and small, the stock chain is a little course in the cut, and I agree a smaller chain would be an asset in light pruning work, these light saws struggle to contain the vibes of a heavier chain,as they have not the mass to absorb them.

It is more pokey than the 150, probably about the equal of an exhaust model one, with stronger plastics yet being lighter and more compact.

The air filter is a work of art, and the handle very ergonomic.

I think with the smaller chain on it will be the best small topper out there by some distance.

  3. George Bush has a heart attack and dies. Obviously he goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him.

'I'm not sure what to do,' says the devil. 'You're on my list* but I have no room for you.'

'But,' he continues, 'As you definitely have to stay here I'm going to have to let someone else go. I've got three folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let you decide which one you want.'

George thought that sounded pretty good, so he agreed.

The devil opened the first room. In it was Margaret Thatcher and a large pool of water. She kept diving in and climbing out, over and over. Such was her fate in hell.

'No!' George said. 'I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long.'

The devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledge hammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing the hammer, time after time.

'No!' commented George. 'I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day.'

The devil opened a third door. In it, George saw Bill Clinton lying on the floor with his arms staked over his head, and his legs staked in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.

George Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, 'Yeah, Oh yeah boy! I reckon I can sure handle this.'

    The devil smiled and said;

  4. Hi Geoff,

I'll measure the stack on Monday, but I'd estimate about 30 ton. Do you know any hauliers with a suitable vehicle or shall I make some enquiries?

You are more than welcome to come and see the timber before committing if you'd like?

I will see if I can sort a haulier, but if you have someone then I don't mind using them, and could take the lot quite happily, I was thinking the small amount as I could grab that on my truck.:001_smile:

  5. Thanks Al, I seem to vaguely remember it having a specific name as it was attached by a small root like structure, as can just about be made out in the pics where the darker wood is, I think David Humfries had one on his desk and was posting about them, but I can't find the thread for looking.

I might chuck it on the lathe myself if I can think of a good use, maybe a ball would be fun.:001_smile:

  6. I think I have a big oak burr tucked away in the shed from years ago, so it will be hard as nails, I will dig about in there as it was too big for my lathe at about 20 inch diameter if I remember right.
