  2. Hi all,

Just received my Canadian Work Visa, valid for the next year. So now looking for work opportunities.

I am an experienced climber, currently contract climbing, but looking for employment out there really. Well versed in all tree work. have worked around the UK, and spent a fair while in NZ.

I am ideally looking for work on Vancouver Island, but open to other places.

Any help or pointers very welcome.

    Thanks Paddy

Give me a call Martin on 0012507400934 i can fill you in on who to and who not to work for or get you a job on Vancouver Island if you want one

  3. I live in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island BC and work for Davey tree i would choose BC every time over Alberta, it gets very cold in the winters in Alberta - 20's and high 30's in the summer Vancouver Island has the best climate in Canada we have the mountain's for winter sports and the ocean and rivers for the summer and the best salmon fishing in the world. Vancouver is more expensive than Calgary but the Island is much cheaper and nicer in my opinion we also have big trees in BC where Alberta are more like the size you find in the UK.

If you are looking for work drop me an email [email protected] I hope that this helps.

  4. Great pics - I was looking for a vid a few months back just to see how springboards 'work' - what sort of cut you make, what the end of the boards look like etc... but no joy...

    Any links kindly accepted :001_smile:

You just fall a small tree rip a board out of the center about 3 in thick then cut in to the tree 5 - 6 inches three lines top middle and bottom 3 in high break the bits out with an axe and put you board in if its loose ad a wedge under it its that easy

  5. Apparently the Davey seals **** each other in the woods regardless of there district...and I hear hey have too silky everything cuz there not and aloud big petrol chainsaws...I also hear there red necks that shoot arrows through car doors...but all rumours I guess

One day my boy you too could be a davey seal!! i hear the burley boys have the redest of necks on the main land and turn up for work in stetsuns and cowboy boots shouting Yeee Haaarrrr lol

I hear your off to Sweden Rich hows things ?
