  1. All my carabiners for tree work and a fair few in my rock climbing rack are DMM ones and I've never had issues with them. They make a perfect snapping noise when they close aswell, I've found some other brands have an inferior snapping noise.

Some people have commented to me about the plastic springs being weak, but I've never had one snap...

my guess is he was referring to the quote :

ive never thought you could tell a good krab from a bad one by the noise?

    :001_tt2:

  2. Just started to pick up down here in Cornwall,i deliverd a load this morning and ended up giving my number to three other people, right place right time for once, but im still praying for snow early.

great stuff brian starting to pick up here to, we need a bit of a storm ,then lots of lovely snow :001_tongue:

  3. nigel will the stein brand do things like camp and just copy other products and just come up with a ingenius way of selling it, i fail to see other than the price tag what this can do compared to a hc in or out of a rigging application. id be ineterested to see what this can do that proven equipment on the market can already do. other than flood it with second rate gear of course.

get your self down to the ARB fair next week to find out :001_tongue:

  4. Like ad15 said search the site lots of people on here have made a mistake or two on here in trying to run their business the best way.Frank is right lots of people ask questions without doing any research all areas are different .

    good luck :001_smile:

  5. I would have thought so. It's listed as accessory cord. Not friction cord. As long as you only use it for comps and recreational climbing.

no dont think its CE marked but the discription states that its a prusik line that will last :confused1: i know this stuff is supposed to be good but heard that the inner core gets very hot comp to the outside a no visable way of seeing damage . just a thought ,thats why it does not meet CE ? im no expert but its not got it for a reason but is still sold :001_tt2:

  6. i have one, but only use for comps. as before u cant attach ear muffs. and as these helements are designed for rock climbers. they are designed for impact on the top only and not on the sides.

so ur not suppose to use for work! best alternative is the (petzl best) which is made for side impact aswell. hope that helps.

hi mog think you might have that the wrong way round. the petzl Best is for ground work EN397 Top impact where as Rock climbing helmets are EN12492 As thats the standard for every Rockclimbing helmet .Hope this helps:001_cool:

  7. lightweight and long lasting ? As tresrgr8 says 9 months or so and thats it as a guide. they are worn 7-8 hours a day 5-6 days a week in some tough conditions but if you spend £200 + i want atleast 18 months or so . just remember if you look after the boots they will look after you eg, use nikwax etc.

  8. Do you live up here mate??

I was thinking the other day IF you got in the champs league, You will have been able to chase some MEGA stars with all that cash you've got but you didnt :001_tt2:

Im interested in how and what you will do over the next 5 years, Im not massively opposed to City, i like the fact Manchester is going to have 2 top teams, I do like the banter tho :laugh1:

yeh live in cheadle hulme. should still get some big players, the team needs time to gel were a couple of players short of a team that can push for the top 3 . the banter is good but will all change sooner rather than later.
