ive had a palax for 5 years now and cant fault it . The Dalen 2054 is a great machine but expensive so depends how much splitting you are doing ? If its just a sideline then get the palax if your running it all day everyday then get the Dalen.
Marshalls will back up your Dalen and caladonian will back up your palax both good to deal with the choice is yours ..

It's ok I suppose , it's like a gloryfied wheel barrow , but £400 is a bit much for some steel and 2 wheel barrow wheels ,and there are others on the Market like tube trolly which are cheaper ,, lol
there will allways be something cheaper outthere it is heavey duty, well made piece of kit also made in uk got to be worth supporting.....

Thanks les, that's a useful insight, so am i assuming correct when i say does that mean that type A and type C are alike your class 1 and class 2 respectively?
Type A Front protection
Type C All round protection
Right as for class :
Class 1 protection genrally Type A"s
Class 1,2,3 You will find in Type C
As Les says CLASS 3 is far to thick and clumpy to work in
(bit like sleeping bags)
hope this helps...

I want one 2 :-)

come on boys lets just sit back and think about this for a min.
we are all preaching and argueing over whats right whos wrong etc ..
this is nothing personal but, if im using a product thats had a hard life we all know the conditions we work, and my life was hanging on a product thats roughly 8yrs + i would think im gona replace that before somthing goes wrong .Not saying you should not use products of this age and this is only my opinion but for the sake of 50 quid ish is it worth it the risk. lucky enough there was no major damage .Lets just sit back and think and be safe .

what did the dealer say mick ? Like i said all makes ,models ,sizes of helmets, boots ,trousers all have some sort of teathing problems out of the thousands that are sold, speak with your dealer and see what they say:001_smile:
-
there well over priced
just the same as a vertex, they have also had problems in the past nothing is perfect ,in a ideal world they would all be cheap and last forever

prob wont find any now as the Stein Explorer boot has taken its place, most of the sponsors on here have them
-
seen these cheap ones before you will prob find if its says will hold 5 ltrs if you fill it it will only hold 4ltrs ,not worth the bother to save a £ or so.

i have the red zemat boot(i think) stretch air ones, great for groundwork and ankle support but uselss in the snow, my feet have been freezing in them, i swapped back to my old elton boots with thick socks. Very disapointed tbh as i rated them highly before the cold spell
to be fair ive found we want everything out of them nice and cool in the summer and nice and warm in winter its not gona happen did they keep your feet dry ?
i been through lots of boots for my farm work and still not found one that will do both, on stein discoverys at the mo nice and dry, hard wearing but at -13 my feet still got a bit chilly.
