  1. It is pretty muddy though... I know what you mean, we call him a fitter all the time and it really annoys him. They'vw got us over a barrel though, we have to use the garage department for repairs so they can pretty much change what they want. Maybe there are some other pieces damaged too. Very hard to get the full story from them, they just look for someone to blame.
  2. The machine doesn't' show any more vibrations than normal though.
  3. Lol, good point. They still wouldn't do it though. The mechanics word is gospel. I havr had this argument with them on several occasions regarding all sorts of machines. My 5 gang mowers air con broke so rather than fix it their solution was to remove the doors... then moaned when I said I wasn't coming into work because of breathing problematic. Lol. Three inch of soil and dust in the cab every day!!
  4. Thanks for all the info. Nothing has been said yet, I guess its on its way though. There could be other items damaged too, but no one has said that yet. Just waiting for some excuse from the mechanic as to why it wasn't fixed when first reported, maybe then it could have stopped any further damage. The anti stress box hasn't been working since last winter at least. I have reported it at least 4 times and nothing has been done. Unsure as to whether or not the other teams have reported it. Thanks for the info on pricing of the flywheel and time scale for doing it. It won't be fitted by the dealers, the mechanic will be doing it and then they charge the parks department for the parts and labour etc. Cheers!!
  5. This is our argument, but the mechanic is a a-hole and the management listen to everything he says.... we definitely haven't put anything like that through it, can't speak for the other teams though.
  6. No one else touches blades other than the mechanic. Thanks for info on 'stress box'
  7. We've recently been experiencing problems with our tracked 190 chipper. I work for a local authority and for the last four times that we have taken it in for blade changes i have reported that it has stopped self feeding. i.e. just dragging in branches etc without stopping to build the revs back up. (not entirely sure what this is called) but this would cause the chipper to stall and then we would have to undo the shoot and clear all the chippings out before it would restart. This last time after filling an accident form in regarding something that happened because of this fault, the garage department has decided to get the dealers in to diagnose the problem. Our mechanic never fixed the problem even when reported. (probably over 6 or 7 months) The dealer has now said it is a bent flywheel. Would this cause the problem mentioned and what could cause it? The machine is used by around 45 different people, but primarilly by my team and non of us can remember any steel bars etc going through it to inflict such damage. Got a feeling that the management are going to try and nail us for the damage which has been costed at £6,000. Just looking for a few facts and ammunition to back me and my team up. They can't really pin it down to a select few as like i said the whole department has used it at some time. Thanks alot. David.

  9. 346 spikes will fit. You may also want to consider the 346 p&c as you will gain better performance over the 353 p&c. As for the MM, rather than open the stock port, add a second one. If you're not into welding then drill a hole into the front of the muffler then tune the carb accordingly. If you want an easy way to do it then buy a husqvarna 288 deflector and use two self tapping screws to fix it around the hole. Alternatively you could drill the hole through the muffler and the bracket that holds it in place and fit a spark arrestor screen. Not only does it catch any unlikely sparks it will also stop any unwanted rubbish getting into the muffler and cylinder. Is your 353 a straight 353 or does it have the catalyst? i.e. green fuel cap?
  10. I would do mate but no where best you. Have a search and you will find more info on the net than you can read! Search YouTube too.
  11. There is another one on. Good luck
  12. There was one on ebay this morning for £195 b.i.n. with £15 postage. Didn't last long!! lol.
  13. LOL! glad everyone is ok. +1 on the brake pedal lock. I don't see how it could have happened unless something like this is the case. A gear change? dread to think what his own car looks like!
  14. Scrap it and get a 346xp ne for another hundred quid... far better machine that will handle better and perform better too!!
