  3. Yes in a no target area , this was definitely on if the oldest beeches maybe one of the original planting of the landscape could even of been on view at the time of the artists impression on the back of the new £10 note ?
  4. Thanks ,Went to check after the strong winds last night had a feeling this was going to happen soon it has finally shed its top at the point of the oyster hopefully it will carry on as a natural pollard for a few years

  6. Thought I would share how this Beech is getting on in decline shedding its top , I feel it is a good example I have come across of beech with high fruiting of Ganoderma and meripilus, kretz at its bace with signs of armilliara ,also oyster seen high up, 2013-17 . thanks Ben

Hi David thank you , yes same tree this year haven’t seen it fruiting for 3 years at height but it did fruit in the hollow in trunk a couple years ago , I would say in last ten years of watching it is ushally consistent for some kind of fruiting each year , thought I would make the most of it this year cheers Ben
