  1. Thanks Peter Found Newmarket Plant Hire in Milton, I'll call them in the morning. You don't have a number for Ben Burgess do you? Thanks for fast reply, Ed
  2. Hello all, Doing a one off job for my Dad Up in Cambridge and I need to get my hands on a chipper on Thursday, (11/08/2011), HSS still not got back to me and having no luck else where. A 6" chipper would do it. Any Ideas? Failing that, I'de be looking for somone to do it for my Dad after I'd gone home. It'll be a mornings work, you can drive right upto the site, leaving all on site, all stacked and ready to go, no fences, metal or roots. Any sugestions on who would be good to contact? Any one intrested in taking the job? Thanks for taking the time to read this, any help is great. Ed
  3. Hello Just a quick one to let you know the interview went well, and I got the job. The interview went just as you all seemed to say, finding out who I am, thanks for the advice. Rather than blowing smoke up my arse they were dead honest and told me it wasn't exactly tree surgery work, being a utility company, but I would get a **** load of qualifications out of it. I had a good think about what they were offering and I recon it'll do me grand as a part of my 10 year plan. I’m pleased as punch anyway. Just to get out of the job I’m in at the moment and back outdoors for a living as much as anything. Thanks again Ed
  4. Thanks for all the response, really good info. Robert.S, brilliant, had me giggling no end. On a more serious note, I was hesitant to put the company name up, but when I think about it, not sure why. It’s Scottish and Southern Energy, based out of Poole, Dorset. What do people think? Big Boss Beechwood raised a good question. As I said only just started in this line of work, having just dipped into my pocket to get myself CS30 + 31. What are ambitious yet achievable career targets for, let’s say, 1 year and 5 years time? Thanks again Ed
  5. Hello Just started out in the tree work, well not really started, more trying to get started, I've just got my CS30 + 31 and always worked in the outdoors, had a breakthrough and got myself an interview with a big company. Thing is, I don't have a clue what to expect in the interview. Had lots of interviews in the past, but not in this line of work. What sort of thing am I likely to be asked, expected to know and what are they looking for in my answers? What questions should I be asking in the interview to work out if they are a bunch of butchers or not? Any advice is welcome, Thanks for your time Ed
  6. Gibbon Sent you a P.M. the other day, has it not got to you? I can do 23rd & 27th if the offer still stands. Ed
  7. I’m offering FREE labour. I’d like to become a tree surgeon and before I shell out money on NPCT’s I’d like to be sure that it is what I want to do, also get some experience whilst I’m waiting for the course. I’m fit and healthy, a bloody hard worker, want to learn and have a realistic expectation of conditions/salary ect… I have my own transport. A full clean driving licence including C+E amongst many other categories. I live in Poole but will consider all offers. Remember, I don’t want any pay for work experience. You will not regret taking me on Send me a phone number to discuss further Thanks for your time Ed
