Well for what its worth  I agree with Matelot .

To many people walk around with blinkers on nowadays . Its so obvious that the NHS has been struggling for years . 

The staff do an amazing job . Yet more and more people are being let into the country . Which will put even  more  strain on the system . 

Sex crimes have gone up by a big percentage in my nearest big town .  The worrying thing is over 90% of these crime are committed by the migrants from Romania  Pakistan  and Africa  . 

This Government has no back bone  ....so the problem will only get worse   .

Conifer reduction is  a standard part of Tree work in the UK .

Master it and you will have an endless supply of work .......boring   but  it pays  well .

Don't ever underestimate the amount of green waste you generate from a Conifer  trim or reduction .

Work out your price and add more for a removal if your unsure of pricing .

If I didn't remove the tree  then the customer pays top whack  simple . Sometimes  its obvious that the company who removed the tree  don't  actually own a grinder or couldn't be arsed to hire one  in  .   What really annoys me is when a job  you priced for  goes to another contractor ...then  the  customer asks you to grind the stump  for the price you quoted within your original  job spec / quote .   Nope    .... as  we price the whole job as one  .  

I generally state that if we removed the tree i will give a discount on the stump removal .   Not to clear up others  failings  .

It wont fit on my bench but our stumpy is giving me grief . It cuts lovely at full revs then dies down after 8 mins .

It always drives to the job well ? 20 HP Kohler Engine .. Ram Grinder .

Switch it off and re start 5 mins later ....works great then the same again ?

I think the key is to have an exit plan and do what you can to work to it, I know there is some jobs i can do perfectly well on my own and others not so well. If subbies are working for me and various other firms then there is no issue! Skyhucks comment makes a lot of sense all of a sudden

I work mainly on my own now with the exception of a few local groundies .

I'm sick of been let down by these so called subbie climbers ? Late for work ie road works ? I couldnt find the job site ?? How come everyone else did ?

Half of them break stuff and expect your insurance to cover there incompetence .

Still they want to be paid £ 100 - 140 a day .

Slow and steady is my path now . Finding a good bunch of subbies is a beautiful thing

Its a fact that after my Xray my results showed more scarring on my left lung which has been aggravated ? By what ...... I ask ... the consultant .

Over twenty years on the saw has taught me that chainsaw dust is bad . Most of us in the industry know this .... Although many operatives neglect or don,t take into account the fumes from the saw .... which are quite potent ..
