  1. Hey all. I'm considering buying a cheap Titan top handled saw for occasional use and wondered whether any1 has any experience with the model or brand? It'll be for very limited use, maybe 2 or 3 times a year at most so I don't really want to shell out for an ms200. But I don't really want to waste my money either. Any info would be much appreciated Link to online store below Thanks Titan Petrol Top Handled Chainsaw ,25cc engine with an 12" bar
  2. The coronet cuts I have seen in this thread are 100 times better than any I have ever seen in reality. The ones I have seen look awful! I'd imagine it takes a lot of skill and artistic flair not possessed by all to make them look any good at all. I personally would not do them by choice. What sort of chardes do people put on this work? Id imagine it's considerable compared normal finishing cuts?
  3. This sounds interesting. Is this from experience or speculation?
  4. I use OP 8mm for a distel on my side strop. It works fine and has lasted me months and is still going strong. Originally I had it tied as a VT but I retied it with the same piece of cord and was amazed to find next to no wear on the contact side. Think perhaps I might change it(for more OP) some time soon though.
  5. Peter storm are ok and cheap as, cheaper than helly hansen. Or at least they were when i bought some last, they've lasted ages.
  6. don't fall out of trees and check your gear twice. Just the other day I used a collegue's prussik which slips easily, which of course it did. Left me dangling sideways 3 meters below where i had been plus a brand new rope burn across my hand. lucky I wasn't cutting
