hope college arnt working you too hard, i am still working with mike, i havent been on here for ages, was looking for some insurance and found your message.
im getting a new saw today hope to get the new 560 now that they have changed the chip and it works.
so whats new in the college scene? when are you doing the level 3 in forestry. i saw the write up in the forestry journal. it true what was said except cost of petrol per week.

I have just heard a well known and well liked tree surgeon in my area of Dorset has had an awful accident with a MEWP and by the look of the pictures he is lucky to be alive. Go to Dorset Echo - News, Sport, Homes, Jobs, Cars and Local Information in Weymouth, Portland for more info. This guy has a squeaky clean company, so it shows accidents can happen at any time, to any one. Good post - I hope everyone pays attention!

Look in your local papers, websites and magazines for Hedge Laying competitions. I've taken part in a few as a novice, and even won one. They are good fun! You meet loads of old boy tree surgeons and farmers who give you loads of tips and help. Its not dying out quite yet, but good on ya for keeping it alive! Most competitions are also sponsered by local beer companys and you get to take a free case just for taking part.

Yeah, "The Wild Trees" is a great book by a feller called Richard Preston. Its the story about how they found Hyperion and the nutters who climbed these giant Redwoods. Brilliant!

I have tried one out and it took some getting used to, but I was wondering if anyone has actually used one in day to day climbing and working in a tree and if it is worth getting? I'm told they really save your pelvis.

The best base layer that I've worn came from a rugby shop in Bath. Made by Canterbury, its a thermal layer that will take the mosture away from your body. Because its designed for rugby players it has a cool looking grip running down the arm to grip the ball better, so your base layer won't wear away quickly when climbing everyday.

These were found in Snowdonia, North Wales. Though, not as good as the other pictures posted I fear! Polyporous squamosus and Piptoporus betulinus
