  1. The thing i find with some so called fencers(large companies incl) is that they use 5ft posts that are hardly in the ground but does look good when finished.A blast of wind or cattle pushing then it doesnt look so good.

My moto is do the job properly first time and you dont need to go back.

  2. No need to - the registration is dead simple, and there's a ton of useful business info there. Also, I'm between accountants at the moment - existing one being me doing my own books, and now looking for one who knows more than the one my work mate has.

A good accountant should not cost fortune to do all the work for you.At least there should not be any mistakes that the lay person might make.

  3. FR, item 4 in your list, please could you clarify? The fee for incorporating on-line is £18, and the documents for memorandum of association are authenticated electronically. Which are the 2 forms that need to be notarised?

Can you not get your accountant to do all the registration work.It doesn't cost much more.

  4. Almost.....

Where there is not a manufacturers towing limit imposed then the GTW can be utilised as the driver sees fit

For the GTW it is actual weights that count but any plated weights must not be exceeded

A van with GVW of 3500 and GTW of 5500 with a trailer plated at 3500 MAM can be used in these ways legally - but not always safely!!

    van 3500 + trailer 2000

    van 3000 + trailer 2500

    van 2750 + trailer 2750

    van 2500 + trailer 3000

ROG ;I did say check plate's but anyone with any sense would also go to a weigh bridge to confirm there actual weight empty then full.

A lot of people would get there eyes open imo

  5. GTW is normally 5.5 ton if i remember correctly but dependant on model.

Take off the weight of your transit say 2 ton empty (check plate) and you will find out how much you can pull.

Remember there are a lot of variant out there single/twin cab, axles ,alloy/steel body extra.

If unsure take it to a wiegh bridge and keep the paperwork in the cab incase you are ever stopped.

Never overload and you will be fine.
