was that truck pulling it? i couldnt see a pull rope or was in very low down!!
very lucky no one was hurt.
-
i would say its when its a rootballed tree, but those look more like bare root in which case i would put the stake in verticle but do it before the tree goes in , id also cut the stakes just above the tie point.

Where do I get it in europe?
they are made to order , they are not available in climbing shops.
see mark bolams post on the next page, thats the guy who makes them.
i think they are a good bit of kit.

i think we bodged one together years back with an exhuast clamp, assuming some of the collar is still intact.

cool thanks, just looked it up, looks the same as petzl but metal.
-
i normally use petzl karritools on either side of my harness for the chainsaw but iam getting bored of keepbreaking them.
what metal ones do people like that are similar to the karritool design.
thanks carl

dont know what machine you have( didnt watch the video)
but on some machines you can manualy bypass all the antistress electrics, this may help pin point the issue.
i think some forward/.reverse hydrulic valves have solenoids with a red light on, you could check this when its working , then when it isnt.
sorry a bit vague but iam not much of a chipper mech, just vague memories from breakdowns!!

Where have you been we were talking about stockboard the other week.
is that what the ground mats are made of?
-
we have a husky 550 with a cracked oil tank , the crack is on the front of the saw ,it has a few cracks as if it has had an impact.
we where thinking to clean it and grind the paint off and put some sort of chemical metal , glue stuff to repair?
anyone tried this and what product worked?
if that doesnt work then i guess its a new crankcase and rebuild.
thanks carl

Hi! Just wanted to know what the best chainsaw trousers for climbing are? Pfanner? Arbortec? Stein? They gotta be highly ventilated, very comfortable, flexible, light. Thank you!!
are you sure its chainsaw trousers you are after!!!!
arbortec breethflex are comfy enough, outers are a bit weak though

Well gents as she who makes all the decisions has decided to have the wardrobes pulled out. I have found the cause of my condensation problem. The problem area is directly under a vent in the roof so cold bridging as the cold air from outside blows directly onto the insulation creating a cold area on the ceiling. Some ducting needed me thinks.
or could the vent be leaking?!!!!
not sure what sort of roof set up you have but if the insulation is only on the ceiling level and the rafters are uninsulated then would there be much temp difference between above the ceiling insulation and outside?? hope that made sense!!

ive got the sip keiu jacket at work, its a good fit, not too warm and good for climbing.
it doesnt seem to be 100% waterproof though.
the best jacket i ever had was a berghaus walking jacket, pissed all over any arb jacket ive had in terms of waterproofness.

It's a 2013 model so yes an older saw. I seem to remember the 261 being one of the first mtronic saws stihl did and I got the last carb model they had in. Its a while ago now though!
The bottle is actually some of stihls premix which I've periodically started it with to stop it gumming up!
id sell it , we had an early 261 and had no end of trouble with needle bearings and worn crankshaft.
